She closed the door to her apartment and took a deep breath. The aroma of freshly baked bread enveloped her in a warm welcome.
She kicked off her shoes and walked barefoot through the living room, enjoying the softness of the carpet under her feet.
Single and unattached, she sometimes longed for companionship. At other times, she was grateful for her freedom to do as she pleased. Today she would choose to enjoy the present moment.
She put on a soft tune and poured herself a glass of red wine. At the first sip, she savored the nuances of the vintage, allowing her senses to transport her.

Susana smiled and promised herself to live each moment more fully. The world could wait a while longer. Tonight, she would revel in the simple pleasures of home: music, wine, tranquility.
Tomorrow there would be time for new pursuits. For now, the present was gift enough.
