Longshaw is great for having a brisk walk in the countryside with its old woods and streams. All the routes are well marked out, so you won't get lost. In the winter, you can see for miles as the trees are all bare.
When we arrived, there was a Winter Bauble quiz. Q. Over winter my red coat turns thicker and grey .... A. red deer.
As we'd had a lot of rain, they had cut small trenches into the ground to divert the water, to keep the paths from getting waterlogged and letting it drain into the marshy bits of the field.
Someone was clearing a blockage out in the stream.
Even though it had been wet and windy, the landscape was still beautiful.
Someone had made an effort to decorate the tree. Longshaw sells their own Christmas trees and has been doing for about 50 years. All the money they raise is put towards the conservation work they do, from putting up bird boxes to tackling climate change.
We finished our walk with a nice cup of coffee.
That’s a very nice walk with a touch of Christmas atmosphere! The hot drink looks good too.
That's the best bit. 😁
Nice
Thanks.
Oke
Thank you again @ewkaw and @qurator. ❤️
