I went to a local nature reserve today. We're supposed to be having a heatwave next week and it has been declared a 'level four national emergency'. This happens when the weather is so hot that deaths and illnesses may occur. I'm getting out while it's not too bad! I walked through some nice shaded areas under the tree tunnels.
From there, I decided to walk down the river. There wasn’t an awful lot happening, apart from a mallard duck balancing on a branch while preening itself.
Still not many butterflies about except a meadow brown.
There was also a solitary swan looking for food amongst the reeds.
I crossed over the wooden bridge and into the wooded area to do a circular walk.
It looks as though someone had been having a litter pick in the woods. People do throw a lot of rubbish down instead of taking it home. Thank goodness for the volunteer litter pickers!
As I walked back to the car I passed someone's garden. They'd grown some very tall lovely looking sunflowers with a few bees enjoying them. They're going to be hot next week!

Thank you @teamuksupport.
Very green and peaceful atmosphere. We have a whole week of rain everyday. Better stay out of heat wave. Stock up on lots of cold drinks! 🙀
Definitely will be stopping in if the forecasters have it right.
