We had a short walk around Whitworth Park in Derbyshire.
This lovely park has a small lake, children's play area, bowls and a cafe. We walked around the winding footpath and past the beautiful rhododendron bushes.
We could smell the wild garlic plants surrounding the tree. They have small, white star shaped flowers growing from them. They look really nice in big clumps that cover a large portion of the ground. I like the smell of garlic but not when cooking or eating it. It tastes like gas to me.
Hawthorn flowers are little white or pink flowers that appear on hawthorn trees and bushes and can be used for certain health issues.
We have a nursery rhyme over here about magpies, depending on how many you see.
One for sorrow,
Two for joy,
Three for a girl,
Four for a boy,
Five for silver,
Six for gold,
Seven for a secret,
Never to be told.
The bunting is still up from the King's Coronation.
The yellow broom is similar to gorse. It's not prickly like the gorse bush and it gives off a vanilla aroma.
We crossed over the wooden bridge, over the water and followed the footpath out of the park.
Not far from the park, the blossom had all blown off the tree to form a pink carpet on the road. It's a shame it doesn't last long.
What a beautiful park with a lot of flowers. No crowd and so peaceful to walk around and relax...
I avoid the crowds. 😊
