Visiting a National Trust estate so we could have a nice walk, was a good idea today, as it was relatively dry. I've eaten lots of chocolate over the festive season so need to get the calories off!
There are various walks that you can choose from, such as the blue, orange and pink routes that take you all around the estate, this includes the walk around Padley Gorge where the creepy trees are.
There are old woods and the babbling Brook of Burbage to look out for. The water looked a bit angry today but we have had a lot of rain recently.
The blue walk is longer and takes you over a good 3 mile walk, which I find a nice distance. Not too short and not too long either. The views are great and with well marked footpaths it would be difficult to get lost, even for someone like me who has no sense of direction!
We have visited this National Trust estate a lot of times and still enjoy it as it can change a lot depending on what season it is.
It is quite a popular spot so it can get busy at the weekends. They do have a lot of activities for children so best to avoid the school holidays as well.
Beautiful photos you have made. A great mystical atmosphere, breathtaking - a walk for health and unity with mother earth.
