That does look like a rather affluent place to reside. I wonder how many of those are just someone's seasonal residence, too. That first photo says a lot about the area. Those are some pretty nice looking structures across the water.

It is a very popular destination for travelers from many parts of the world and there would be a number of seasonal residences included. The Gold Coast is experiencing extreme lean times at the moment with this Covid-19 and even some of our states in Australia are closed to people from other Australian states, this one included. Although the closed border issue will be re-assessed in the next few days.
