An Apology From Us At The Hive-Woodpeckers

Hive_woodpeckers_in_wood_no_glass.jpg

Good evening all and thanks for taking the time to check in on us.

First off I would like to apologise for my misunderstanding on how the DHF funds are sent to us each day.

Yesterday I was converting my Hive into HBD as I normally do. Which I then transfer to my main account. I do this as it benefits myself and the Woodpeckers in the following ways:

  1. To sell the HBD and transfer it into £'s, it costs a fair amount of fees that reduce what we make from the HBD. This is then used to buy the materials that we use in the Woodpeckers workshop.
  2. I want to fund my own account with HBD and Hive, which if I buy it then costs me the extra fees on top.

Doing it this way makes sure I keep full value for the Woodpeckers and allows me to keep the funds fully useful to me.

The following transfer is the one that has brought some negative attention to us:

I had assumed that at the end of each day, if the DHF funding was still being given, that the 10 HBD would be deposited to the account then.
I hadn't realised that it is every hour 😅

I transferred my HBD that was from my original Hive, but I accidentally had included some of the proposal funds.
I have now learnt my error so sorry for this if it has raised concerns amongst the Hive community and the Hive-Woodpeckers supporters.

I have returned the 1.248 HBD that I sent by accident.

Now I will explain how I will use the HBD funds from the DHF Proposal

All HBD that the Hive-Woodpeckers account generates is 'Sold' to my main account @youloseagain.
This is in exchange for supplies/materials/equipment that we use in the workshop.
It's surprisingly expensive lately to acquire these items and I do try to buy second hand items, solely due to the high costs. It is also a good way to recycle things and give a second life to many things.

The DHF funds will be no different as they are HBD.
I may not be able to buy all of it in large sums so it will be bits and pieces that I buy at a time.

I won't be spending this money unless it is giving both the Woodpeckers and the Hive community good value. I want to make the most of this and push us both further forward.

For tax purposes in the UK, having all the funds on the same account will make my accounting easier and cost less as I get charged per account. I want to limit the costs as best I can.

Now how will the spending be tracked?

Receipts galore, as best I can at least.
When buying I try to buy new and used stuff. The issue with second hand items or from places like marketplace, is that there are no receipts.

I plan to get around this by using a spreadsheet with receipted and non receipted items.
I will also provide receipts so that the item and values can be seen. Of course Il black out our private details as I don't particularly want to give anyone my card details 😅

Next up is the promotion and onboarding plans for Hive.

Currently we are sat at 4 onboarded with a total spend of just over $300 of Hive purchased with fresh money into the ecosystem.

In February I am giving a presentation to a group of Crypto enthusiasts and have the hope of onboarding some of them on the day.
I will be preparing my presentation in the coming weeks and will be showing a small part of it for some feedback from the community if possible.

I hope this has allowed me to explain and settle any worries about how the Woodpeckers will use the funds.

Any questions that you have, please do contact me and I will do my best to answer and reassure you.

Again I really appreciate all the support that the Hive Community have given.

@deeanndmathews I hope you don't mind my tagging, but here is my post explaining some of the concerns that I said I would cover. Thankyou very much for your support.
