"I will wash them later". It usually starts with this phrase, what is considered as stacking of dirty plates in the kitchen. The problem here is not the procrastination of your washing of dirty plates and utensils but leaving them right inside the shank.

Do well to always stack the dirty plates at one side of the kitchen if you're not ready to wash immediately. It's understandable that one could be very tired after eating or cooking, but dumping dirty plates, cups or pots in the shank is a bad habit. It will prevent the flow of water in the shank to the tiny holes where it runs out and where debris are filtered. It's also disgusting to the eyes, especially to the eyes of another person who is about to use the shank.
Always remember to stack your dirty kitchen utensils at one side of the kitchen if you're not ready to wash them, but stop dumping them in the shank.
