I always get bored when I see so many political ads during every single election season. I just read that the Democrats have been outspending Republicans in key House races, particularly in California and in New York. Kamala Harris raised over a billion dollars in a rally.
So where is all this money going, and what are they really buying with it?
Of course your first guess will be ads and paying for merchandise and stadiums for campaign rally and yes ad spending that influence elections. That point has been made very clear to me from the $378 million dollars dumped into these races have you asked what we the voters are left with? My answer is nothing.
Just take California, for instance, the Democrats spent twice as much as the Republicans did and the flooded the airwaves with ads on abortion rights, Trump's bad character and crimes without much evidence to back. It's a whole propaganda they spent millions to propagate and influence the hearts of voters.
While the Democrats were raising those points in their ads, the Republicans hit on immigration and taxes.
But ask yourself, after watching endless ads on these issues of the country, do any of us really feel more informed and transformed? Or are we really just being emotionally manipulated to go to a voting booth and vote away our future without really understanding the policies or the candidates involved?
I’ve seen it happen in my own country. A friend of mine got deceived by a simple ad about crime rates and just from that changed her mind about who she was voting for without looking into the actual candidate's entire record.
I get scared of how much influence these ads have on people and the political parties know it so they spend all the money on it.
I'm still wondering why groups like the crypto-funded Fairshake PAC is involved in this. $15 million on pro-crypto candidates, seriously? That means crypto has gotten involved in politics and it's influencing anyone that what's the good of crypto but without considering the other things. Just because someone Promises to make one thing you're interested in great doesn't mean that person is going to be the best leader.
Right now it's not about representing people's rights, it's now about whoever can throw down the most cash.
Nothing has changed for years, we're just weeks away from another election, I'm watching the same ads over and over, the same promises and manipulative tactics. This ain't democracy this is just an auction where the highest bidder wins.
