🧙♀️Hello Battle Mages!
Here's a warm welcome you to this week's mage secrets. We are down to 5 days : 14 HOURS to End to Season [EOS], I truly hope you are having fun fighting your way up your preferred league(s)🙂.
This post is my continuous attempt to explain how I approach the various kinds of Splinterlands battle rulesets. I have so far shared my approach to twenty four (24) Rulesets, here's the last one on TAKING SIDES
and I have come to introduce you to another.
This is an interesting ruleset with a good number of conditional approaches. But, before I tell you all about it, there's plenty days left, so if you want to know other battle mages secrets and take part by sharing with us yours, simply visit 👉BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge!
Splinterlands seeks to sharpen player skills by allowing us explore various strategies via rulesets
. I have tried to study a few cards especially with the newly introduced rulesets, giving one more reasons to know what cards strongly suits them.
Before the start of any battle, each player is shown what ruleset is allowed in battle and it is extremely beneficial to read and strategize accordingly. The ruleset secret I will be sharing you to in this post is the TARGET PRACTICE
TARGET PRACTICE RULESET implies that ALL Ranged and Magic attack Monsters have the Snipe ability.
With this in mind;
Players are advised to keep a no attack, Magic or Ranged monster in position 2 with Shield, Void, Magic Reflect, Return Fire. Triage helps in this ruleset.
Players should know that Triage helps in this ruleset.
Not that bad, I enjoy such rulesets, we all have equal life counts and all monsters are snipers. Well worry not because I have the perfect battle to demonstrate this and a possible lineup that works for mid-high mana battles. Time for a little Loonie-toonie🤣
📜TARGET PRACTICE + WANDS OUT & EQUALISER DUEL: A DEEP DIVE INTO MY STRATEGIC LINEUP📜
RULE SET | |
---|---|
STANDARD | MODIFICATIONS TO THE RULES AND MECHANICS |
MANA CAPACITY | 48 |
AVAILABLE ELEMENT | only Life🌬 and Death☠️ Splinters allowed |
This was a high-mana cap battle with the spotlight ruleset TARGET PRACTICE
ruleset in combination with WANDS OUT
and EQUALISER
.
📌TIPS TO NOTE ABOUT THESE RULESETS:
TARGET PRACTICE : All Ranged and Magic attack Monsters have the Snipe ability. Keep a no attack, Magic or Ranged monster in position 2 with Shield, Void, Magic Reflect, Return Fire. Triage helps in this ruleset.
WANDS OUT : Only monsters with magic attacks may be used. Use Phase, Void, Void Armor, and Magic Reflect to counter magic attacks.
EQUALISER : The initial Health of all Monsters is equal to that of the Monster on either team with the highest base Health. Don't use high HP monsters and focus on high damage. Try to use a lot of monsters as well. Having a Tank Heal, Thorns, Triage for defense helps a lot.
The battle line is drawnn, but, I will quickly introduce you to my chosen Summoner and Monsters.
⚔️ TEAM LINE-UP & REASONS I ENGAGED THEM IN BATTLE ⚔️
☠️ MIMOSA NIGHTSHADE - SUMMONER
MIMOSA NIGHTSHADE Afflicts
all her enemies, causing their wounds never to heal. She then grants the Void ability
to the warriors fighting alongside her, protecting them from Magic spell casters, and finally takes away -1 Range attack
from all range enemy monsters.
I picked MIMOSA NIGHTSHADE because of her Void ability which will help protect my magic Team monsters seeing it was a wands out ruleset. Also, Target practice in combination equalizer, it's typical to select Tank heal monsters, hence the Affliction ability will cause the enemy monsters not to heal and for sure enemy will comes with rangers, hence -1 range points will suffice.
☠️UNDEAD PRIEST - THE WEAKENING FRONTLINER
UNDEAD PRIEST Slows
down enemies by reducing their speed, and the carries on to Weaken
enemies by taking away -1 Max health point.
I picked UNDEAD PRIEST because of his Weaken ability. The equalizer combo, all monsters got the highest health from both teams compared, hence a minus to all enemy monster's health will give me an upper hand.
☠️DJINN MUIRAT - THE GIANT KILLER
DJINN MUIRAT Giant killer
does double damage to over powered monsters who cost 10+ mana in battle. He's got Magic reflect
which does reduced damage back when hit by magic attack enemy. His Void armor
cause magic attacks to hit his armor before affecting it's health and finally his Knock out
ability does double damage when attacking a stunned enemy.
I picked DJINN MUIRAT because he perfectly suits all 3 rulesets I was faced with. His giant killer, void armor and magic reflect will cause great damage to enemy.
☠️DEATH ELEMENTAL - THE SNIPER
DEATH ELEMENTAL with the Snipe
that targets enemy monsters with ranged or magic attacks, as well as those with no attacks but not front-liners. The Silence
which reduces magic attack of all enemy monsters.
I picked DEATH ELEMENTAL mainly because of it's Silence ability which takes away 1 max magic magic points from all enemy monsters, giving me a +1 Magic advantage.
⚔️DOCTOR BLIGHT - THE POISONER
DOCTOR BLIGHT who causes great Affliction
by making enemies wounds not heal, and then Poison
enemies every round of battle. His Camouflage
ability makes it impossible to attack and kill except if placed in first position. He Scavenges
for himself the health of every fallen monsters.
I picked DOCTOR BLIGHT because of his Poison and Affliction ability which will further weaken the target enemy each round of battle. The Idea is to also deplete enemies health quickly.
☠️PHANTOM SOLDIER - THE AFFLICTOR
PHANTOM SOLDIER uses the Flying ability
to rain destruction on non-flying enemies and then goes on to causes great Affliction
by making enemies wounds not heal. This monster also has the Void ability
, protecting itself from Magic spell casters.
I picked PHANTOM SOLDIER because of it's Affliction ability which will cause the enemy afflicted not to heal, depleting it's health faster.
☠️CABALIST - THE AMPLIFYER
CABALIST Demoralizes
the enemy by reducing the melee attack of enemy monsters. His Giant killer
does double damage to over powered monsters who cost 10+ mana in battle. A talisman who Amplifies
by reflecting back Magic attack, return fire and thorn damage to all enemy monsters by 1.
I picked CABALIST because of his Giant kill which does damage to over powered monsters. Also went with his Amplify ability which causes magic attacks to be most effective.
Without further ado, let us now enter the battleground.
💥 THE LEGENDARY BATTLE 💥
- The Enemy came at me with the Life element, Enemy-GENERAL SLOAN as Summoner. Enemy-PRISMATIC ENERGY in first position, Enemy-TIME MAGE in second position, Enemy-DJINN ENOVA in third position, Enemy-KRALUS in fourth position, Enemy-ADELADE BRIGHTWING and finally Enemy-SPIRIT. It was a miss by my opponent coming with +range in a magic only battle, but I've learnt never to underestimate my opponents card, and that's a pretty solid team, so Let's see what happened.
MIMOSA NIGHTSHADE immediately
Afflicts
all the enemy monsters and grants theVoid ability
to the warriors fighting alongside her.ENEMY SUMMONER GENRAL SLOAN finds nothing to give to his team as they're all magic and he is a ranger, poor choice there by enemy.
Enemy-Time Mage, and Enemy-Spirit Miner had joined forces to launch a devastating attack on my team.
As the battle raged on, my team utilized their powerful magic to great effect. The Undead Priest and Djinn Muirat used his dark magic to drain the life from the enemy monsters.
Death Elemental attacked with deadly precision, while Doctor Blight's affliction kept them from healing, depleting their health.
Phantom Soldier's stealth attacks caught the enemy by surprise, while Cabalist's dark magic unleashed a torrent of energy that decimated the enemy's ranks.
It was a battle of epic proportions, with powerful magic and fierce attacks flying back and forth.
FLAWLESS VICTORY FOR MY TEAM
A RECAP ON TARGET PRACTICE RULESET:
The TARGET PRACTICE
ruleset means that All Ranged and Magic attack Monsters have the Snipe ability. Hence, keep a no attack, Magic or Ranged monster in position 2 with Shield, Void, Magic Reflect, Return Fire. Triage helps in this ruleset.
In this battle Mimosa Nightingale shines as a summoner, turning her magical creatures into fortified warriors, ready to withstand and retaliate. This summoner's ability like -1 Range reduces enemies range attack and the Void really came useful to protect team against magic damage. Meanwhile, monsters like the Death Elemental, Djinn Murat, Cabalist, Doctor Blight, Phantom Soldier, and Undead Priest provide a mix of offense, and defense to dominate the battlefield.
I could have also gone with the Earth Splinter and engaged summoner like QUIX THE DEVIOUS from the dragon splinter or even YODIN ZAKU from the fire Splinter. In a Nutshell, going with Monster or Summoner that offer the -1 Range in combo with Void, Void armor, and Phase would make a good line up, very rare but this is where Mimosa Nightingale shine.
🤣Sorry for the Post Thumbnail Bait, but you'll be shocked how well Magic Monsters go well with this Ruleset. That will be all about my battle with TARGET PRACTICE
as focus ruleset Thank you for stopping by😊
