Last week, I presented a free server of Dark Ages Of Camelot, a game I played a lot many years ago.
It's still very interesting because of its special feature, RVR (Realm vs. Realm).

Je vais aller un peu plus loin dans ce post.
First, I'll cover the things you absolutely must know if you want to try out this game.
After creating your first character, you'll arrive in a starting zone, which isn't necessarily the tutorial zone, but will be adapted to your level.
There are zone quests to help you progress quickly, so you can reach maximum level 50 in a week, whereas in the original game it took several months.
You can also take part in reroll parties, which are held regularly in the chat room.
Another way to level up your character is to RVR in the battlegrounds (small PVP zones) with their associated quests.
The following screenshots show the main NPCs to know:
Teleporters, who have a bright blue circle around their feet, instantly sending you to another area.
Be sure to spot them in every zone.
Realm buffers:
- The speed buffer, which lets you move quickly, has many names: Hastener, Ministrel, and is often close to the Realm Enhancement buffer.
- Statistics buffer (Realm Enhancement), this innovation makes buff bots and double-counts obsolete, as they are forbidden.
Killing mobs with these buffs is really easy.
The Healer is used to regain lost stat points if you die while fighting mobs, which can happen if you're too intrepid.
Yellow mobs are at your level, blue mobs are a little lower, green mobs are a lot lower, and gray mobs won't give you any experience.
Orange mobs are a little stronger than you and bring more experience.
Reds are a real challenge solo, but are the target when you're playing in a group.
Violet mobs are very high-level, and can be overcome by a well-organized group.
Mobs drop weapons and armor when they die, and there's no need to buy or craft equipment before level 50 in my opinion.
I'll talk about RVR in another post, as it's the main interest of this game.

J'aborde en premier lieu les choses que vous devez absolument connaitre si vous souhaitez essayer ce jeu.
Après être passé par la création de votre premier personnage, vous arrivez dans une zone de départ, qui n'est pas forcément la zone de tutoriel, elle sera cependant adaptée à votre niveau.
Il y a des quêtes de zones qui vous permettront de progresser rapidement, ainsi il est possible d'arriver au niveau maximum 50 en une semaine alors que dans le jeu original il fallait plusieurs mois.
Vous pouvez d'ailleurs participer à des reroll party qui sont régulièrement proposées dans le chat.
Un autre moyen de monter son personnage est de ne faire que du RVR dans les battlegrounds (petites zones PVP) avec les quêtes qui y sont associées.
Dans les screenshot suivants je vous montre les PNJ principaux à connaitre:
Les téléporteurs qui ont un cercle bleu lumineux autour de leurs pieds, il vous envoient instantanément dans une autre zone.
Pensez bien à les repérer dans chaque zone.
Les buffeurs de royaume:
- Le buffer de vitesse qui vous permet de vous déplacer rapidement, il a plusieurs noms, Hastener, Ministrel, il est souvent proche du
- Buffer de statistiques (Realm Enhancement), cette innovation rend obsolètes les buff bots et les doubles comptes qui sont interdits.
Tuer des mobs avec ces buffs est vraiment facile.
Le Healer sert à regagner les points de statistiques perdus si vous êtes mort pendant un combat contre des mobs, ça arrive si vous êtes trop intrépide.
Les mobs jaunes sont de votre niveau, les bleus un peu en dessous, les verts très en dessous, les gris ne vous apporteront aucune expérience.
Les oranges sont un peu plus forts que vous et apportent plus d'expérience.
Les rouges sont un vrai challenge en solo mais sont la cible quand vous jouez en groupe.
Les violets sont de très haut niveau, un groupe bien organisé peut en venir à bout.
Les mobs droppent à leur mort des armes et des armures et il n'est pas nécessaire d'acheter ou de crafter de l'équipement avant le niveau 50 de mon point de vue.
Je parlerai du RVR dans un autre post, car c'est l'intérêt principat de ce jeu.
