In this free version of the mmorpg Dark Ages Of Camelot offered by the EDEN server (https://eden-daoc.net/), the beta for season 3 has begun.
The big news is the appearance of three new classes, one for each kingdom:
Vampyr for Hibernia
Warlock for Midgard
Occultist for Albion
These classes already exist on the official servers, but they are not implemented identically on EDEN, and are the subject of intensive testing during this beta to adjust and balance them so as not to create an overpowered class.
The current beta allows you to test all the classes in all the realms and the game in general with the greatest of ease, as you can reach a character's maximum level instantly and acquire equipment, potions etc. for free, and you can respecialize ad infinitum to explore all the possibilities of each class.
Don't hesitate to give it a try, it would be cool to get together on this game from time to time.
For my part, I wanted to test the Occultist on Albion. 🧟
It's a hybrid class, inspired by the Necromancer. You can choose to be a sword fighter assisted by spells and a pet, or a pure magician also assisted by a pet.
In the current state of implementation, the magic path is the most viable, an easy-to-level-up character who can take on red mobs with ease, as I've tested over twenty levels.
Pets are great, especially as they're the same level as your character, whereas other classes are generally limited to 88% of your level, i.e. max LVL 44 when you're 50 in the end game.
Each pet has a different declination depending on whether you're in decrepit or ghostly form, offering a total of 10 different pets, each with specific skills ranging from pure tank to caster, debuff, mezz, direct damage, disease and so on.
Depending on the form you take, whether decrepit, ghostly or chtonic (melee), you have advantages such as rapid health regeneration, conversion of damage received into mana, increased resistance.
The only drawback is that you don't have access to the quickcast that allows you to cast a spell without being interrupted, but this is compensated for by a few instant cast spells.
Their main ability, in my opinion, is to cause illness, either on contact in decrepit form, or as a spell, which reduces the effectiveness of healing by 50% on affected enemies.
Another advantage is that, at last, with ghostly versions of pets, they can pass through doors, as most of the pets in Hibernia and Midgard already did, which balances out the game.
The mana cost of spells is very high and the mana regeneration capabilities are not effective at the moment, which limits the in-game possibilities, but this may be corrected.
When I have time, I'll test the Warlock on Midgard, as I was turned into a frog and destroyed yesterday, and I'm curious to see how it works. 🐸

La grande nouveauté est l'apparition de trois nouvelles classes, une par royaume:

Ces classes existent déjà sur les serveurs officiels, mais elle ne sont pas implémentées à l'identique sur EDEN et font l'objet de tests intensifs lors de cette béta pour les ajuster et les équilibrer afin de ne pas créer de classe surpuissante.
La béta en cours permet de tester toutes les classes de tous les royaumes et le jeu en général avec la plus grande facilité car vous pouvez atteindre le niveau maximum d'un personnage instantanément et acquérir équipement, potions etc gratuitement, et vous pouvez vous respécialiser à l'infini pour explorer toutes les possibilités de chaque classe.
N'hésitez pas à essayer, ce serait cool de se retrouver de temps en temps sur ce jeu.
Pour ma part, j'ai voulu tester l'Occultist sur Albion. 🧟
C'est une classe hybride, inspirée du Necromancer, vous pouvez choisir une voie de combattant à l'épée assisté de sorts et d'un pet ou de pur magicien assisté aussi d'un pet.
En l'état actuel de l'implémentation, la voie magique est la plus viable, c'est un personnage facile à level up car il peut affronter sans problème des mobs rouges, j'ai testé sur un vingtaine de niveaux.
Les pets sont formidables, en particulier car ils sont du niveau de votre personnage alors qu'en général, pour les autres classes ils sont limités à 88% de votre niveau, soit max LVL 44 quand vous êtes 50 en end game.
Chaque pet a une déclinaison différente selon si vous êtes en forme décrépie ou fantomatique, ce qui offre en tout 10 pets différents, chacun avec des compétences spécifiques qui vont de pur tank à caster, debuff, mezz, direct damage, maladie etc.
Selon la forme que vous prenez, décrépie, fantomatique ou chtonique (melee), vous avez des avantages tels qu'une régénération rapide de la santé, une conversion des dommages reçus en mana, une résistance accrue.
Le seul inconvénient est que vous n'avez pas accès au quickcast qui permet de lancer un sort sans être interrompu, mais c'est compensé par quelques sorts de lancement instantané.
La capacité principale à mon avis est de provoquer la maladie, soit au contact en forme décrépie, soit sous forme de sort, celle ci réduisant l'efficacité des soins de 50% sur les ennemis touchés.
Autre avantage, c'est qu'enfin, avec les versions fantomatiques des pets, ceux ci peuvent passer à travers les portes comme le faisaient déjà la plupart des pets de Hibernia et Midgard, ce qui équilibre le jeu.
Le cout des sorts en mana est très élevé et les capacités de régénération de mana ne sont pas effectives pour le moment ce qui limite les possibilités en jeu, mais ce sera peut être corrigé.
Quand j'aurai le temps j'irai tester le Warlock sur Midgard, car je me suis fait transformer en grenouille puis anéanti hier et je suis curieux de voir comment ça fonctionne. 🐸
