Today, I'd like to talk about a certain category of video games: business simulators.
Video games are all simulators in a way, since they allow us to immerse ourselves in a universe and be active in it, either with a character, an avatar, or in the form of a manager, a leader.
The games I'm referring to in this post have as their specificity the simulation of a specific activity, a profession, a hobby, often related to real life, but not necessarily, there can be a fantasy component.
I'm coming across this type of game more and more often when I'm scrolling through the latest releases, and I'm wondering what kind of public is interested in them?
When I look at the description of a game, I usually try to project myself to see whether I'll enjoy playing it, or at least have some interest in it, based on the images and videos if they're available.
I confess that despite the great diversity of these simulations, I've never been tempted, though I admire the ingenuity of the creators in coming up with so many.
Some themes are fairly classic, such as simulations of farming, fishing, hunting, various stores, hotels or restaurants, car, motorcycle or bicycle repair shops, or computers, but others are truly niches:
For example, Tank Mechanic Simulator, in which you take on the role of a WWII tank museum owner, and go in search of wrecks that you renovate for display or resale. What a great idea!
In the same style, there's also the recovery of shipwrecks and submarines.
There's also Potion Shop Simulator, one of the few games that doesn't really place itself in the real-life arena, but I've also seen a few other medieval games, such as Blacksmith Simulator or Medieval Trader Simulator.
The gameplay of all these games seems pretty basic, mainly management and cosmetic components, so I'd like to know if any of you have tried them out or play them on a regular basis?
I've counted almost 300 games of this type, and I can't believe it.
The one that intrigues me the most is Power Wash Simulator. Can you really find any interest in cleaning virtual objects with a karcher?
