A Quiet Day on Campus and Global Headlines in the U.S. Presidential Election

Today was relatively quiet, as I didn’t have many classes to teach. However, I still needed to supervise students practising for our upcoming inter-house sports competition, scheduled for November 26, 2024. All teachers have been assigned as house masters for different teams, and I was chosen to co-lead Pink House along with another teacher. My main task today was to monitor the students during practice and make sure they stayed focused.

While supervising, I learned about a serious altercation between two female students in their final year of secondary school. The situation escalated so much that they nearly stripped each other bare, tearing each other’s clothes during the fight. It was disappointing to see students on the brink of graduation behaving this way. The incident caught the principal’s attention, and he decided to suspend both students for two weeks. This suspension, he explained, would serve as a warning to others who might be tempted to engage in such disruptive behaviour.

Another major event of the day was the announcement of Donald Trump’s victory in the U.S. presidential election. This marks his second time winning the presidency, and, like before, he faced a female opponent. Last time, it was Hillary Clinton; this time, it was another female candidate. Although the news wasn’t particularly surprising, it’s notable how powerful and influential his supporters have been. People like Elon Musk and other high-profile figures were vocal in their backing of Trump. Some believe that Trump’s victory may have also been influenced by sympathy votes after he survived a recent attack during one of his rallies. Whether this incident played a role in his victory remains uncertain, but it is interesting to consider.

One thing I am confident about, though, is that the United States may very well see a female president soon. Perhaps this will happen in the next election after Trump’s term. The impact of U.S. elections often reach far beyond the country itself, affecting the global economy and international relations. It will be interesting to see if Trump can address some of the pressing issues, particularly the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and between Israel and Palestine.

In more positive news, Trump’s win had an immediate effect on the cryptocurrency market. Bitcoin saw a significant surge in value after his victory was announced. However, altcoins haven’t experienced the same spike, and it’s unclear why they’ve lagged behind. I also read on binance where a user said Altcoin session has passed. Whether that is true or false, it is important to know that everyone always predicts the outcomes without being sure 100 per cent. To me, I believe we are yet to see the best Altcoin sessions. It might be next year, probably early next year. This is just my opinion, though, and not financial advice.
