Today was a relatively quiet day since I wasn't working. My boss declared it a free day for us to help ease the effects of the fuel subsidy removal. With some extra time on my hands, I planned to focus on attending to the animals and crops we have both at our homestead land and the extension property. My main goal for the day was to prepare ridges for planting pepper and other crops. Unfortunately, I couldn't achieve this because the man I hired to assist me didn’t show up. This was the second time in a week he had failed to fulfil his promise, and to make matters worse, he didn’t even call to inform me. I tried contacting him several times, but he didn’t pick up my calls.
This behaviour is quite frustrating. I can’t understand how some people can be so unreliable. At this point, I’ve decided to look for someone else to handle the task rather than waste more time waiting for him. His repeated disappointment has made it clear that I need someone more dependable to get the work done.
Since I couldn’t proceed with the ridge-making, I focused on other tasks instead. I watered the crops we’ve already planted, including plantain, tomatoes, vegetables, and corn, along with the other plants we’ve cultivated in our garden. Afterwards, I turned my attention to the animals. I fed and tended to the hens and chickens we kept in cages and also checked on the rabbits to ensure they were well cared for.
Apart from tending to the farm, I spent some time monitoring cryptocurrency trends and making a few investments on major exchanges. However, the current state of the cryptocurrency market requires a lot of caution. Bitcoin (BTC) has been performing strongly, nearing 100k, but altcoins aren’t showing the same level of movement. This behaviour is quite different from the last bull run, where altcoins surged alongside Bitcoin. I’m hoping the altcoin season will arrive soon before BTC experiences a dip.
It’s also worth noting that we’re in the holiday season, a period when many people tend to sell their investments or close trading positions, especially those dealing in futures. This often impacts the market significantly, so I’m keeping an eye out for any opportunities or risks that may arise.
Although my plans didn’t fully work out today, I still managed to get some things done. My focus now is to find a reliable person to help with the ridges so that I can move forward with my planting plans.
