Some time ago, an idea poped up in my head, while i was riding my bike cause i was tired of paddling, like i could just rest and while it drives, i know there are electric bike tho, but i thought about it like converting mine to a dual drive, like while i'm driving it, the paddle could be connected to a battery that charges from the engine and is connected to a transmitter that is able to power a motor that the chain is attached to, thus creating self drive when i'm tired...
On that day i was headed to have my heir cut, in his saloon, my barber powers his shop using a dual mode power inverter, from sola and from electricity which has made business all too easy for him because of the less cost effect of the inverter, then i figured out using that same concept on my bike.
That day when i return home i brought my pencil and drawing book to sketch my imagination about how i can convert my bike to a dual drive mode, automatic and manual drive, before i left i had discussed with him about it, cause he studied mechanical and electrical engineering, and he had done all the conversion himself, told me he could help.
my drawings
But then i didn't really had the fund to go ahead with the plan.....
Then one day while i was heading out i bumped into this electric bike, exactly the same way i have imagined, i had to stop by and take a proper look
This is an electric bike battery powered with a transmitter, when i looked closely i noticed the battery is connected to the bike's engine, such that when paddling charges the battery, i have never seen one but this came exactly as i imagined, which got me wondering about bicycle evolution.
I had to dig into the evolution of bicycle from the very first original concept design by Karl Van Drais on 1817, how it was made from wood, cause at the time horses were dying from some illness so people began to find alternative means to get to their destination faster,
The first bike that was made never had a paddle riders often use their legs to wheel it foreward, after wards it evolved into creating first steel made bicycle with paddle and chain to drive, the paddle and chain was connected to the front wheel, however this posses some threat to navigating and controlling the wheel while driving.
Several designs came up, till in 1885 when John Kemp Starly created what is now known as the modern bicycle design, altho several other invntors also contributed to the bicycle evolution.
Today here we are with lots of innovations from their ideas, making our world a better place, i celebrate all their creative ideas in inventing the bicycle we now enjoy today.......
