RE: LET'S ARGUE! | Semana 1 | (¿La Tecnología ha cambiado la música para bien o para mal?).

Lets see what the future will bring. I was already amazed when listening to a classical concert held a few years ago in the Royal Albert Hall, of which the music was created by AI. The results: The audience was taken on an emotional trip similar to pieces of music composed by the all those we know from the classical side of things. Some years ago I published a blog about this: https://ecency.com/post/@edje/artificial-intelligence-ai-becoming-real-humans-quality-music-compositions-getting-reality

Wow! I was really surprised by the article. I was able to listen to several of the pieces that are there and they are quite complex. They reminded me a lot of contemporary music compositions. These are excellent examples, and they are from the year 2012 😐, imagine what can be achieved today and the implications of this. By the way, a few years ago Facebook turned off some AI bots that they used for various tasks, because they had developed their own language based on English that the managers could no longer understand, the machines and processes were more efficient but they did not understand anything that the bots were communicating with each other. This is why I mention above that there is still a way to go in terms of technological advances and how this will affect the music. 🤖🎻

Hahaha, some of the experiments around AI by the big companies is very interesting. The Facebook one indeed. The Microsoft one as well with the Twitter bot that went totally racist and mean. A few times I talked about AI generated music with some of my friends being professional producers and DJ's. Though they are technical, they generally believe AI will not replace them... But to be honest, I think AI can replace the producers and musicians. That said, when so, it'll be the live performances that'll be the unique element of a human artist. Sure, also their own 'manually' created music, for their best fans, but the mass will not care too much anymore in such future. I suppose the circle will be back to where music was before all the technology, like recording possibilities, back to performing, rather than creating and mass distribution.

I find your point of view very interesting because it makes me think where are we heading with all this and what could be the consequences? 😐 Although I agree that there are many processes that can be substituted by AI, I also think that there are many others in which it is not (and maybe that is exactly what saves music from becoming something totally artificial). For example: the artistic production and development of a concept, the process of mixing from the artistic point of view, the process of composition, the expressiveness when performing, improvisation, imperfection (in which there is also beauty). I think it is true that technology (specifically AI) could imitate some of these points, but I consider it difficult that they can fulfill them as a human and get to replace it completely. I really liked the comment, it reminded me of the TV series "Black Mirror". 🤔🤖
