@ducecrypto

Welcome back to another Ranked Rewards Report Card for S148, which ran from December 1 to December 15, 2024. Despite how busy I was with the end of the school year, I made it a point to submit teams for as many tournaments as possible, even if that meant I would play fewer Modern ranked battles.

While my ranked rewards took a bit of a hit, I performed much better in the tournament events. Looking at the big picture, I increased my SPS earnings this season (especially with the liquid SPS tournament prizes), so hopefully I can continue to churn out tournament results and keep those numbers up. Onto the stats!

It was another routine season for the automated service running my account in Wild. With my commitment to tournament events, I have been renting a handful of max cards from the A/B/U sets which I don't own on my account. Overall, the DEC spend is under 2000 DEC for the season, which I easily recoup from my leaderboard prize and tournament finishes. The bot won over 59% of its battles, with 192 wins in 324 battles. the Top 25 finish earned my account 40K DEC from the leaderboard prize.

On the Modern side of ranked play, I only had time for 101 battles. I won 52 of them, barely over a 50% win rate on the season. This wasn't anywhere good enough to get me close to Champion 2 last season. Instead, I peaked just a few wins above the Champion 3 threshold of 3700 and spent more of my game time focused on grinding tournament events.

Glint season rewards will show in the season they are claimed.

My earned Glint continues to drop season over season, down to 754K in S148. Part of the story is my lower win rates in Modern, dragging my overall seasonal win rate down to 57.4% with 244 wins in 425 battles. I would probably earn more Glint if I just had the bot play all the ranked battles in Wild, but what fun would that be?! Not enough battles for me!

The other part of the story is that I am no longer spending Glint to buy energy. When I didn't have cards to spend the Glint on, buying more energy to increase my SPS stake made sense. But now with dedicated Gold Foil draws for the new Rebellion soulbound reward cards, I'm funneling most of my Glint into those draws, which means no more energy purchases and fewer chances to receive energy prizes from loot chests.

I earned 4515 SPS from the 244 ranked wins across both formats in S148. I averaged about 18.5 SPS per win and 10.6 SPS per battle. Those stats still ook pretty solid to me!

There are a handful of A/B/U cards I target to rent at the start of every season. I want to make sure I have my bases covered for Wild tournaments and ranked play and give myself the best chance to win each battle. As I earn more tokens each season, I try to invest in a few more of these older cards so I don't have to rent them anymore.

Let's start with my biggest chunk of SPS income, SPSDAO tournament prizes. Based on data pulled from the in-game currency activity log, I got paid 10,603.406 SPS from prize finishes in 21 different events during S148. This means I was, on average, cashing in on more than one tournament per day and making about 707 SPS per day from tournament prizing.

You better believe I was busy submitting the events, playing pretty much every regular and gold foil event in silver, gold, and diamond leagues in all formats. I especially enjoy those East Point events that pair two random card sets each season because, for the most part, those formats do not have established metas!

My staked SPS rewards continue to hover around 1K per season as I inch closer to the 400K staked SPS milestone (which I should cross next season as we end 2024). As more guilds jump into Tier 5, those brawl rewards have pulled back a bit. I'm no longer earning 1K SPS each season from the three combined brawls, but even our current return is pretty strong based since we are still one of the highest earning guilds each cycle.

The increased SPS from turning a 2nd land plot into an SPS shard mine even has me a bit bullish about the future of land. I know that the devs are looking to make it a bit more difficult to mine SPS in Land 1.75 because we will need to combine more resources to make it happen, but I'm still more bullish than I have been about the earning potential from developing a few more land plots. I will wait to see more before committing to any additional land purchases!

Besides my pedestrian win rate in Modern ranked play, I was pleased with my performance in S148, especially considering my success in tournament events. I've set 10K SPS as a realistic target for SPSDAO tournament winnings, and with some focus and hard work, I managed to get it done last season.

Now my challenge will be to continue to be diligent with my tournament battle submissions, even when the end times move to the wee hours of the morning. Tournaments are the best way to earn SPS in the game, so those battles should be my priority, even if the asynchronous battle pairings means less effective use of summoner tactics.

In sum, I earned 7715 SPS from the ranked rewards season and another 10603 SPS from tournaments for a total of 18318 SPS. Based on today's spot price of 0.0093 USD, I earned over $170 worth of SPS last season! Love to see those numbers go up! Until next time...
