Struggle!
So last season I got very little time, and on top of that it was a struggle to move through the ranked battle. Suddenly, I saw that there is only 12 hours left for the season and I am sitting at 3300! In the D-2. The immediate panic was if I at least do not qualify for the champions-3, the next season (this one) I will start from Gold!
It was sheer panic! Because I have been down into the depth of gold league and I know how hard it can be. Thankfully this was end of the day and past dinner. Kids were in bed. Although I was dead tired and I particularly don't enjoy playing a long push when I am tired...I had to do a push!
So here I am after 2+ hours of playing, I barely climbed into C-3 and finished the season. Only 118 games I managed to play. At 58% it is near my average win rate, but it never felt like it. I struggled all the way till end.
Why The struggle?
I think it is many fold. We are certainly at a lull in terms of development of the game. The last game related feature was probably the brawl, which is I think more than a year back. Yes, there was CL pack, but the new cards have already been plataeued out. I have them all and I generally know how to use them. What's new after that? This is certainly not a complain, but just a lull. I have been through lull phasees of many games including this one, and we will get through this. But until then we grind along!
There is a lull in the rental market as well. I don't find motivation to manage or even rent all my cards. Rentals prices are nearly all time low after the launch of CL, while the number of rental contracts are reaching all time high. This divergence is expected and very revealing.
It has good and bag things both associated with it. Just it is demotivating for me to play, it is even more demotivating for bots to play. I often hear that more and more bot accounts are listed for sale at a discounted price of $1 or lower. Not a bad time to buy some discounted cards if you ask me. I recently bought a Max Selenia for cheap. Still looking for a Max Prince :)
