In February I celebrated living in Argentina for six years. These years have been full of personal exploration, solitude, and lots of happiness as I formed my family & life. I was actually born in a totally different continent, in California to be precise. And while I do appreciate the diverse places I have lived over the years between North, Central, and South America, I am, ultimately a home-body who loves the comforts of being settled.
So, today, I want to share some aspects of a day in my life, or rather, the aspects of my life that I was able to photograph yesterday. Everyday starts out with a couple of hours getting some work done on the computer while I drink some yerba mate. I finished off a post for HIVE, checked on orders through my online shop, and started writing out a script for an upcoming video.
Outside the weather was ideal! It is the end of summer and fall weather is slowly moving in. It rained the night before and the cloud cover made the weather nice and breezy. I celebrated the cooler weather by putting on a few extra layers before hoping on my bike and heading to town for my weekly grocery shopping.
I am finally feeling like myself again and wanted to celebrate this renewed sense of self by putting more attention into my outfits. Normally I dread heading down to town and interacting with so many people. But, yesterday I was inspired to dress up as the more social variant of my persona. And I think my outfit was quite cute!
After about an hour zipping around town I returned home with my haul. The weather got really hot on the way back home and I am so glad that I had my cooler with an ice pack to keep the cheese & meat cold despite the rising temps. At the green grocers I picked up some locally grown greens as well as fruits and veggies from elsewhere. I also grabbed a few Argentine essentials: a bag of Yerba Mate and olive oil.
Once back home I began the process of food prep. Maturing bananas needed to go into the freezer and I started soaking seeds like quinoa and sesame for dinner.
After making a simple lunch for my partner & I, we both took a nap. Every weekday we head to our land in the afternoon. Jona was finishing up the wood frame for our house while I hauled big rocks from the creek to the areas of the fence that need extra support.
It is hard work which leaves my muscles sore but, it really important to keep neighboring dogs and other predators from our small little lot. Then the clouds rolled in and threatened rain so Jona and I biked home for a end of the day joint, a veggie-filled dinner, and a cute documentary before bed.

Very unrelated but do you remember what you told me about rosemary?
I started using it for my hair and today at the salon, the hairstylist was impressed with how my 4C hair didn’t tear when she was combing.
I’m so excited and grateful. My hair is very healthy now.
Thank you, Chloe🥹❤️
It means a lot to me.
