Travel Supplies

Does an entertained mind lead to happiness?

I wanted to put this question to the test and curate the best travel experience possible with the media I brought along.

Leaving my home and living on the road for a few days can leave me disorientated. The sudden influx of socializing and movement make me forget who I am as an individual. For this conglomeration of planes, buses, and long walks between the two I wanted to pack lightly but, full of memories.

In my travel bag I packed the essentials; clothing, snacks, and a handful of reading supplies.

  • as well as many blank pages in my journal to fill out as I sit on the bus or plane.

  • and also a re-read of a book I finished months ago and one I wanted to review before moving on to this sequel.

This is the Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin.

a book I read months ago. In my destination awaits the 2nd installment of the trilogy which I am eager to read. Instead of reading cover to cover once again, I re-lived the key parts of the plot.

Another re-read was this zine by CatMothCrow

a zine I was gifted on Halloween. As I sat in the isle seat on my way to Los Angeles I flipped through some of Dayna's articles, one of which covering her own LA experience and the musical event she attended there.

Uh-hah, reading books while waiting, if you love books you'll surely enjoy waiting in the waiting area. And if ever something unexpected happened like a delay of flight or something, instead of annoyance, you'll be more excited coz you'll be able to read or even finish those books. They are the best travel companion no? Those things that make us entertained.

You are so right! Reading a good book turns waiting into an opportunity to dive back into the story rather than a nusance.

If yours a book, mine's my phone, reading manhwa and watching anime can make me entertained. Hehe
