Give me my Drugs!

I wanted to go ahead and list the meds I am currently taking. Who knows.. this might just help out someone with a similar situation, or perhaps a future psychiatrist or pharmacist. :)

When I first became really depressed, at the end of last year.. instead of sleeping the days away (like I did this last time), I was so very anxious.. I would pace non-stop during the days and NOT ever get to sleep at all.. this lasted about a month till I finally went to the emergency room and got prescribed this next medicine, so I would say it very very crucial to my recovery and I could finally get some sleep. (like 7-9 hours at night)

It's called Quetiapine. I currently take 500 mg. To be even more precise.. I take a 400 mg pill with another 100 mg pill that I can add 1 or 2 pills as needed for anxiety. note: I remember taking this medication when I went through my manic / depressive episode a few years ago, back when I lived in Philippines. It's a mood stablizer and really makes me sleep.. I get super drowsy and it's hard to even move at all, but the forced sleep is very needed though.

The second pill(s) I take is called Devalproex (pretty hard to remember the name, yea?), thankfully it's also called Depakote, which is much easier to remember. It is also a mood stabilizer. I take a 500 mg pill with a 250 mg pill that I can add if I feel I am getting manic.

I used to take just 1 kind of medication.. lithium.. but because that one is a salt, it was real hard on my liver, (or was that kidneys?), and so I stopped it after so many years. I started taking that when I was first diagnosed at 16 y/o. I am just turning 51 now.. so many many years of that. :P

Its cool this kind of meds exist though for sure, you'll need prescriptions to get that. And having depressions is really a serious things. Its sad that there are still people that find it funny when people are having the episode. Like, aigoooo, they don't know it exist until they experience it themselves.

Yes.. its even better bcuz I already know PH has em since they are well known and already available in generic form.

I find it (here on hive) so supportive that we can talk about just about anything and people are very understanding. :)

Drugs can be of help for curing but when not ua2d appropriately might result to something challenging. Prescription on drugs is paramount. I'm happy you're getting more healthy and stronger, indeed many many years to withness my friend.

yes.. they really helped me this time and last time.. now I just need to get back my physical.. i want to add like 30 lbs at least. (even much fat would be good) 💪😎🤙

I was on Quetiapine for a year and a half for severe depression, a forgettable time. I'm glad I had a supportive roommate that kept me focused. I was on a few other meds at the time.

oh.. so u know the zombie drug?! 😉😁👊 but it is real good at finally getting some good ZZZzzzzzz's.

It's all too familiar.
I hope I never ever use it again.
