FOODlog #1251:

Didn't plan to but managed to get dinner at one of the most, if not the most popular place for dayak cuisine in Kuching, Sarawak.

Glad I got to try the food at this place and the nice treat it was from a new friend.

We had:

  • Ayam Pansuh
  • Squid cooked in a sweet red sauce
  • Kantan Fried Rice
  • Midin Umai
  • Iban Terung Ikan

Still my fave Dayak food has got to be from Pinggai. Lepau had way more customers and we had to queue to get a sit. Probably because it's a halal restaurant and Pinggai is non-halal.

What was nice at Lepau were the fried rice and vegetables. Protein wise, it didn't really hit the spot as far as Dayak cuisine goes, but their menu is extremely huge with probably 100 different dishes to choose from so they probably do have some nice meat dishes.

Also it's a dimly lit place with mostly yellow lighting accompanied by my mediocre picture taking skills hense the not so appetizing looking pictures 😄
