Hello everyone! Welcome to another episode of my blog. Today, this may be a short post, but I wanted to share what I received on Valentine’s Day, a day when I honestly didn’t expect anything. Thank you to the people who made me feel appreciated. Keep reading!
February 14, 2025 - It's Valentine's Day! Before heading to work, I knew this day would just be a normal one for me. Aside from seeing beautiful flowers and cute teddy bears outside the workplace, I didn't expect much, it was just another day to get through. However, as I entered the office, one of my coworkers, Miss Crislyn, handed me a strawberry-flavored chocolate and mentioned that it was from Miss Leah, one of the admin staff.
I was really surprised. At first, I thought she was joking, but when I messaged Miss Leah to thank her, she immediately responded, which confirmed it wasn't a bluff. I’m truly grateful to have received both the chocolate and a heartfelt letter from her.
In the afternoon, Miss Chatlyn and I attended a Bible study in our pantry area. After about 30 minutes, we decided to head back to the clinic. As we were returning, Miss Jenna, one of our Bible readers and a teacher at the workplace, handed us a KitKat and wished us a Happy Valentine’s Day. She said it was her way of saying thank you to us. My heart was filled with joy as I received it. There was also a cute note attached to the chocolate.
Another chocolate was given to me by the admin. Miss Cyril, one of the admin staff, handed me a simple token of appreciation, a pack of Nips, with my favorite color on the packaging. She also greeted me with a Happy Valentine’s Day and extended her thanks for always offering her health advice. I truly appreciate these thoughtful tokens, especially since they were completely unexpected.
I am very grateful to have received a bunch of sweets that day. I thought it was over, but then one of the teachers here at my workplace, Miss Helen, came into the clinic and handed me a chocolate. She mentioned that it was her way of saying thank you for always attending to her health concerns. These small tokens truly mean a lot to us. I believe we are in a position to help others, especially when it comes to their health-related concerns.
I thought Valentine’s Day was over, but then one of my coworkers, Miss Mae, handed me a cute fuzzy wire flower keychain, a letter, and some chocolates. I never expected her to give me something so thoughtful. I felt a bit guilty because I didn’t have anything for her. I’m really lucky to have her, not just as a coworker, but as a friend. Maybe next time, I’ll give her something to make her smile.
As I arrived home, someone knocked on the door. When I opened it, my boyfriend was standing there, surprising me with all of my favorites! I thought we’d have a post-Valentine’s date since we both had work, but he came through with a bucket of Jollibee fried chicken, a family-sized double Dutch ice cream, and a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I was truly surprised this time because, while I had been looking forward to our post-Valentine’s date, nothing beats the thoughtfulness of someone in love, there’s always a way to make it special.
February 16, 2025 - Our post-Valentine’s date was scheduled for today. We decided to go to McDonald's, and upon entering, we were excited to try their new menu item, the cheeseburger dunk. As we tasted it, I really liked the flavor of the cheese, it wasn’t too overpowering. Since we were still full, we only grabbed a light snack. I’m especially happy because I decided to try a Happy Meal for the first time. Nothing beats the feeling of being loved by someone and appreciated by others. I will always treasure these moments in my life.
