Thinking back on your accomplishments as the week comes to an end and the weekend approaches brings an overwhelming feeling of fulfillment. It's simple to become absorbed in the hustle of our everyday responsibilities, yet pausing to recognize your achievements is essential to nurturing a sense of satisfaction. Whether it's completing a big assignment, learning something new, or just overcoming obstacles, ending the week with a sense of accomplishment not only brings relaxation but also a sense of direction. This period of contemplation enables us to acknowledge the effort we've invested, rejuvenate, and get ready for the upcoming week. As your week draws to a close, take pride in your accomplishments and recognize how far you've come. Often, it's the small wins that count.
Hello everyone! Welcome to another episode of our blog this week. Today, I will be sharing some small wins that happened throughout the week. If you read my blog from last week, I mentioned that I was ending my week battling with my mental health. Right now, I’m glad that despite the many challenges, there is healing in small gestures. I hope you enjoy it!
March 02, 2025 (Sunday) - My boyfriend and I went to SM City Cebu to catch up with my mother. She had traveled to her province in Tajao Pinamungajan, Cebu, which is in the southern part of the island, for an important visit. Later, she messaged me to say she had brought back plenty of fresh shrimp and milkfish. I was so glad to see her after months of being apart. Together with my boyfriend, we caught up, exchanged some updates, and shared what had been happening at home in Danao. We went to McDonald's since we were all hungry. Afterwards, she decided to head home since it was getting late.
March 03, 2025 (Monday) - I decided to visit my alma mater, the University of Cebu-Banilad, to pick up my yearbook since I had paid an expensive amount for it. I went during my one-hour break at work, as it's near my office. When I entered the campus, I was overwhelmed to see that almost all the students at UC-Banilad were nursing students. The campus felt twice as crowded as when I was there during my batch.
First, I went to the accounting office to sign some important documents. After that, I headed to the library to claim my yearbook. I was there for only about 20 minutes before heading back to work right away.
In hindsight, I wasn’t entirely satisfied with what we paid for the yearbook. Our pictures are in black and white, while some others' pictures are in color. However, I didn’t complain; at least I have a keepsake from my time there.
March 04, 2025 (Tuesday) - We have a newly hired HIPC Officer who has joined the OSH Team, replacing the previous officer who resigned. He was deployed on February 25, 2025, and told us he would cook food as a way of saying thank you. On Tuesday, he cooked a large amount of shrimp for the entire OSH Team. Some of us are allergic to shrimp, but no one minded as long as there was antihistamine available. We really enjoyed eating the shrimp and were satisfied with our cravings, especially since shrimp is expensive here in Cebu. We were happy to enjoy it for free, thanks to our new HIPC Officer.
March 05, 2025 (Wednesday) - My boyfriend asked me to meet him at SM City Cebu because he wanted to buy something. I thought he was just going to buy some food or that we’d stroll around. I was surprised when we went to SM Cyberzone, and he bought me a brand new phone. He knew I had been planning to buy a new phone, and I had been eyeing either the iPhone 14 Pro Max or the iPhone 16. However, I was hesitant because of the price and storage. I had also considered getting an Android phone since it’s a more practical option.
When we got to SM Cyberzone, he bought me a brand new Honor X9c 5G. This is my first Android phone and also my first brand-new phone ever. I was on cloud nine when he bought it for me!
March 06, 2025 (Thursday) - I decided to try out my new phone with my friends from the company, and I’m thrilled with the results! The camera quality is impressive, especially the 0.6. I always thought only iPhones had top-notch cameras, but I was pleasantly surprised by how good the camera on my Honor X9c 5G is. As someone who loves taking pictures, I can honestly say I’m beyond satisfied. Whether it's capturing beautiful landscapes or close-up shots, the clarity and color quality are fantastic. This phone has definitely exceeded my expectations, and I’m really happy with my purchase. It’s amazing to know that I now have a phone that not only meets my needs but also gives me the freedom to snap photos with confidence!
March 07, 2025 (Friday) - Together with the HR staff of our company and the CEO, we visited Tipolo Elementary School to distribute school supplies to students from Kindergarten to Grade School. This has been a tradition for years, with Bridge Culture Inc. organizing a charity program for students. It was a truly fulfilling experience, especially since it was my first time participating in this charity event within the company and alongside the CEO.
As we handed out the school supplies, I could see the genuine joy and gratitude in the students' faces. Their reactions made me realize how much even the smallest gesture can mean to someone. Witnessing their happiness and knowing we made a difference, no matter how small, really warmed my heart. This kind of charity is a reminder of how powerful kindness can be, and it left me feeling incredibly happy and inspired.
On the same day, after work, my boyfriend and I decided to eat out to celebrate our monthsary. This was our simple way of celebrating, as we seldom get the chance to do so due to our hectic schedules. A cup of Don Macchiatos and a Red Ribbon petite cake made our day special and gave us a chance to unwind and enjoy the moment together.
