Positive Vibes and Move on From Comfort Zone

in Daily Blog10 days ago

It's been almost three months since I started my new job as a teacher. “Miss Etik, why did you resign from your old workplace? To enroll at Budi Utomo School. The world of labor is wet, and the world of education is not for profit?” asked one of my mentors when I was studying in Solo.

The first reason is I have been working as a laborer abroad for a long time. For 12 years, I worked as a migrant worker. When I returned to Indonesia, I was also involved in teaching migrant workers: starting from language, attitude, motivating and also introducing the culture of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore to prospective migrant workers. I felt bored with Ms, because it was stagnant. I need a new challenge, where I can expand my thinking and efforts. Learning about curriculum, and child
development is a new challenge and experience for me,' I replied at the time.

You can't stay in your comfort zone, a saying I've often read and heard. Even with what I experience today, from teaching children at school, back home as a teacher less, this is indeed an exciting and challenging new world. But I love it.

The second reason is to share knowledge: every time I can share something positive to others, be it students, mba or mom who want to process abroad, motivate women who are down because their husbands left them, economically down; there is something extraordinary that I feel. Seeing them abroad succeed in finding good employers, and working comfortably, makes my heart happy when I motivate them.

Sharing knowledge and experiences that can motivate others is amazing to me. Thus, it can give positive vibes to others. Always being in a positive environment makes me always want to learn new things that can add experience and continue to grow. Being in an environment where we don't know anything makes us race to learn.

I also never thought that I would be teaching children, considering that my patience was only a tissue, which was split into seven. However, now I have to handle children, with all their liveliness and curiosity. Who always want to know and ask questions. For me, moving on from the comfort zone that I used to work in has given me new knowledge and a very meaningful life.
