Yesterday was my 8th year on the blockchain! I just can't believe it!
Eight years ago I finally listened to @jacobtothe and wandered over to this website that had the word that shall not be named in it's title, signed up, and began what became my Hive journey of fantasticness.
And I haven't looked back since!
I knew absolutely nothing about cryptocurrency, blockchain tech, or any of it. I was, however, a librarian from the days of DOS who was, and still is, entirely comfortable searching for and curating information related to a query for learning.
So learned I did.
I learned how to post, how to format, what the heck Markdown was. I learned how to make a wallet, I stacked some coins, some that were very and are very profitable. I powered up all my earnings, participated in numerous contests, won some of them, and best of all, made some amazing friends and met some of the coolest people.
Seriously, this community, the little community that can, is just beyond my favorite.
It's not as if we haven't been without some drama. I remember all sorts of things besides that one guy who tried to wreck our world.
But most of all, I remember the growth part of it. This place is where I gleaned the courage to do. To try. To create, and most of all to share. And because in part because Hive exists, do I walk around with a spirit of enthusiastic existential gratitude, as I belong to a community where my contributions matter and are valued. It feels good to belong.
And another fantastic thing, is if I want to read about something, I just have to hit my favorites feed, as I have so many friends who are creators and content posters on here! From MTG deck reviews to philosophy to tech trends to travel, there is a Hive blog for every interest and I am here for it!
And that's not even getting started on Layer 2. Holy on-chain creativity! There's games and projects galore! Some have exploded, some have faded away, and some are still works in progress, kinda like us all.
In the end, as most of you know who have visited these parts, I could blather on endlessly with my infectious enthusiasm for this place and all its denizens. Instead of yipping and yapping like a gratitude sweater-wearing chihuahua, I'm just going to leave this celebratory post right here with one last little bit of sentiment.
Truly, thank you to each and every one of you who have been a part of this journey with me. This place is awesome because of the people who dwell in it, and I am so, so grateful to be a part of it.
And I can think of no finer way to end a celebratory Hive-iversary post than that😊
Congrats eight years it is a life.
