Oooh, what a lovely feeling it is to know that year is ended and we are in for a fresh one. The year was a beautiful one in that there were lots of challenges but the good news is that it ended. Many nations of the earth witnessed downtrends in their finances and a hike in the prices of goods and services.
In this post, I will be bringing to your table how the year was with the humanitarian services which I gave myself. Joined hive ecosystem on the 15th of March last year and didn't make my first post till after some days. One month into my hive journey I decide to have my first project.
**How it all started **
One day during my visit to a friend we engaged in a discussion that lead to her telling of a widow that she used to help with some loan for business, I got interested in the story and requested we go see the woman. On getting to her house what I saw made me more emotional, so I was just thinking of a way to step down not in any other thing but at least the children's school fees as we all know that education is a vital key in any society though I didn't tell her anything.
Immediately I put on an appeal on hive through my blog amazingly some people saw it and decided to help. The children's school fees were paid and some transport fare was given to the woman.
I had wanted to put some windows for the woman in her house to increase security because she complained of thieves entering her house on different occasions to take her belongings but due to limited resources that were not achieved

A friend told me of some children that weren't in school due to the parents in the ability to provide their school fees. Then I told her lets to see how it goes. During my birthday on the 14th of November, I wanted to bake some cake so that I will celebrate with my daughter since we share the same month on second thought I decided to move the finance to sponsor those children and that was what I did. Five children were registered in the school and writing materials were shared with them. Within that time I decide to brand the exercise books that I will be sharing with them. Then I was already connected with @neo-care from the neoxiancity then I shared the vision with @sayee who was happy and a logo for the neo-care was decided.
School Uniform Project
These children resume school immediately but with different clothes, I was not comfortable with that, then I thought of getting a school uniform so that they can be like others. After the first visit @ safer gave me some 20 hives for me to get something for the children the next time I go on one visit so that served as a springboard for me to start the inform project. The tailor took the measure and after 12 days he delivered and the uniform was presented to the children.
The last of the year is our visit to the orphanage home within the local government. Earlier I have always wanted to visit an orphanage as I always do but due to none in my area I kept the vision pending, so one of the days while taking my boy to school I saw one and decided we go visit them. Fortunately the Sister there is a known person because we did our postgraduate studies together and that gave us an upper hand. The children expressed joy in seeing us.
Service to humanity is not age bound or is not to be left to those we think have all the financial muscle, let me make this point. Some people we think have the money don't have the heart to help others I don't know what lead to this but I have noticed this and most times people are selfish. It is important to always have the mind of sharing what we have with others no matter how little. There are blessings attached to giving. And when you give it does not mean you don't have needs at all just that giving is sacrificial.
Let me share this little story with you. During the Christmas preparation, I went to visit a friend and from there we made our way to another friend's house, during our discussion they asked me if I was going to prepare snacks for the season I told them I don't have that in mind for now. One of them was like, but you will go and spend so much for others and the second person said I should not beg her for her snacks, so I asked her if I had ever asked her to give me some snacks before. You know that got to me seriously and I went home and shared with my boyfriend I also told him I was going to talk to her, so one day I called her and told her that I didn't like the way she spoke about me before the other lady and she apologies. In conclusion, after my numerous visit and giving to others I uniquely prepared my snacks. People don't bake make just like that, but I baked my cake for my children and neighbors. I ate meat to my satisfaction.
My Team
Realizing that I cannot do it alone, I decided to form a team. Team membership is open to all the #hive members within the locality
Projection For The Coming Year
- Running Skill Acquisition Program that will impact not less than 50 persons.
- Sponsoring and Providing Educational materials for at least 100 students within the locality
- Promoting hive in greater dimensions within the locality in diverse means
In my coming posts, I will bring in details about the points that I mentioned earlier.
This coming year is going to be very engaging for me and I believe every one of us. We just have to be deliberate in all we do. You may not know how it feels to lack basic needs until you walk past that state.
