This was my first Christmas in Caracas (most likely, it will not be the last one) and I fully enjoyed it.
It was a very intimate meeting with My nephew's family. We just talked, drank and ate while the little ones played around.
We ate the hallacas we prepared a couple of days ago, plus the fresh chicken salad and the ham break from that day.
My nephew's wife is a wonderful host and talking to her takes me back to my Home Town. She is the bearer of our elders storytelling tradition.
My nephew is a wonderful human being. He is generous, respectful and kind, but he also has a great sense of humor to go with all that. I am very greatful for having him and having been able to shared with him for the most part of the year, after many years without seeing much of each other.
Their girls are gorgeous and fun. They are súper smart and I am glad I got to know them a bit this year.
All in all, it was a wonderful Christmas. After midnight, when the girls opened their presentes, I went to my apartment fully thankful, even though I did not have the chance to enjoy the company of my own kids once more and the rest of my family is far away.
