Back to Caracas after a week in my hometown. Back to our temporary home. It was great meeting again after having shared with our respective families.
My journey back was shorter this time. It was the expected 8-9 hours. Allow me to take you through three states (Sucre, Anzoategui, and Miranda) to get from Yaguaraparo to Caracas.
It rained for most of the night and by the time I left (about 7 am) it was still drizzling.
This picture was taken some 15 kilometers from my town.
This one is near El Pilar
Then, we get to Guasimal. There are many small villages we called caseríos in between big towns.
And we arrive at the first major town, Carúpano.
The new statue of the Virgin Mary, which has become a touristic attraction.
This is around the bus terminal.
Leaving Carúpano you can see the flamingo lagoon. I was not lucky enough to see the pink flamingos today.
On a good day, they are quite a sight to see.
Then you get to San Antonio del Golfo, one of the most beautiful spots across this área.
A few kilometers later...
The most intense blue I ever caught on camera. This is the so-called "sad Gulf".
Playa Colorada
I could not get a good shot at any touristic spot in Cumaná, so we will skip it to get to Puerto la Cruz, state of Anzoategui.
My wife and daughter were leaving Cumaná by plane by the time I was passing by Puerto la Cruz.
The smoky gas towers of Piritu
Cupira, a must-stop place in Miranda. Lots of foods and crafts to get here.
An ugly accident some kilometers ahead. I could only see one of the crashed vehicles. No idea how Bad it was for those involved in the accident.
Luckily, we we're not delayed too long.
The only stop on the road by Caucagua to refill the gas tank.
As estimated, we were getting closer to the capital by 4 pm.
It was now sunny and warm in some áreas; a bit cloudy on others.
I could not wait to get home.
I cannot believe I am now missing a city I never liked as a place to live in.
Maybe she has everything to do with that longing.
