This year is coming to an end and I can't help thinking about how wild a ride it has been.
This platform has been a determining factor in helping us cope with all the difficulties and look at the bright side of things.
We lost old friends and made new ones. We learned to more fully appreciate life and every little beauty in it.
Like two parrots entertaining you for five hours while you wait for a bus to take you Home.
Or the sweet smell of cocoa beans drying under the sun in the middle of the streets.
Or a hearty meal wellcoming you Home after so long, reminding you of what Home tastes like.
Or the luminous wrinkled face of the greatest love of all.
...reminding you of what a life cycle is.
Or a big brother inviting you to look at the sky on a blackout night to contemplate the stars with the eyes of a child.
Or the delicious smell of hot chocolate for breakfast.
Or the unexpected blessings of the Christmas parrandón.
Or the stories of the old generations...
And the new ones.
Life sure is hard in these god-forsaken lands
But it does not stop surprising us with Beauty and those little things that give us purpose and solace.
