What strikes me as particularly wonderful here is the existence of the note itself. That brotherhood of travelers (or in this case boaters) is always so touching, i think. If only that translated to other areas of our world, you know, not just in smaller, niched communities.

That coupled with the fact that the other boaters had warned us prepared us. The third boat that pulled up were familiar with this stretch of the canals, and they say there has been a problem with lock 91 for a long time. However, it made me think about which other mode of transport would you find people who look out for each other in this way.
I have paper and tape too, and will extend the courtesy in the future:)))
