Her Sweet 7th Birthday

One of the most anticipated days of a girl in our country is her seventh birthday. I think that I've covered numerous 7th birthdays, but this one is the most special. Seeing my sibling cherishing this moment is a rewarding experience, considering that I have witnessed her growth since I matured. I did my duties as his older brother since she was born. Now she's seven. Time flies swiftly!

Preparation

Since it's in our culture to commemorate a girl's 7th birthday, it's evident that our parents saved capital to make that day special. I'm not in a position to ask how much my parents spent, but I can say that the celebration is grand. Two weeks before the actual event, my mother asked me to buy goods online, specifically her dress, loot bag, and invitation cards. On the other hand, my mom asked my aunt to prepare a tarp, and my other aunt donated a fund for the giveaways. I wanted to volunteer to create the tarp, but I was so busy due to my final exam.

A day before the celebration, my siblings, my parents, and I prepared the giveaways, games, and food that they needed. My aunt provided fun to buy a plastic tumbler filled with candy, and I was asked to insert the plastic while my mom tied it closed with a plastic strip. After that, my mother commanded me to prepare the "Pabitin," where various prizes are hanging for the kids to enjoy. Although it was already late in the evening, we still managed to prepare the "Lumpiang Shanghai" and Homemade Ice Cream for the visitors.

I was surprised when I woke up during the event because there was a series of visitors. However, they weren't just visitors, as they were the ones responsible for cooking the food for the party. While her hired cook was preparing the foods needed for the market, my mother went to the market to buy the remaining ingredients. As my dad, my sibling, and I didn't have much knowledge of cooking, we would always be ready to help whenever they needed assistance.

After eating lunch, the organizers for the booth finally arrived. I didn't know that there would be this thing since my mom didn't organize "7 Candles," "7 Gifts," or whatever. It was surprising that the Barbie theme was chosen for the booth and tarp instead of Hello Kitty. It's evident how the celebrant grinned in extreme happiness about how my parents tried to make her day so memorable. They also set up a karaoke from my aunt, and I sang various songs from mainstream songs.

Celebration

This is it! As expected, we had a lot of guests from the celebrant's classmates, my parent's relatives, and neighbors. I thought that our venue couldn't accommodate a lot of guests, but I guess it was only enough. Thirty minutes before the celebration, the guest speaker and the clown finally arrived. It was in my plan to invite my classmates, but it was a good thing that I didn't do it since we were already occupied. So far, my sibling has enjoyed the whole moment together with her special ones. It is expected that there will be a lot of children because that is the primary purpose of the event, which is to make the kids enjoy the show.

The two entertainers did a great job, especially in making the kids alive from their old and some funny jokes and their magic tricks. Aside from that, the kids were also happy when some of them attempted to take a face painting. But if you ask me if it's worth the money for their service, my answer will be no. The two entertainer's fee is P1,300.00, while the booth is P3,000.00. The Barbie-themed booth should be at least half of the price, considering that it is only meant for rent. The only residue that we got was the balloon. It's not really worth the money, considering that our area is only close to the town proper.

Aftermath

After the celebration, I feel tired of washing the mountainous plates, utensils, casseroles, and greasy plastic containers. Imagine spending 20-30 minutes washing all of the stuff that the visitors used after they ate and went away. What makes the cleaning an obstacle is those greasy cakes that they didn't entirely consume. Of course, after they bid their goodbyes, we immediately cleaned the mess and took my siblings a video while opening her gifts.

Since we want to celebrate her actual 7th birthday, we are still able to provide it by giving each other quality family time. If you asked why my parents decided to move the celebration, it's because it was Sunday and her birthday was the next day. Since my aunt was not yet getting the karaoke, I used that opportunity to see my favorite songs. I've been looking for "All Too Well (10 Minutes Version)," "Cruel Summer," and "Don't Blame Me" on their videoke, but I guess it was not yet out.
