Being ex-business owner of F&B, my husband knew how hard it was to sustain this sort of business. Until today, he will still discovery newly-opened restaurants around the town just to support them by dining there. Such is our privilege because we could tag along. At the newly-opened mall nearby our areas called Sama Square, there is another newly-opened restaurant besides Pizza Lab which I blogged in our previous blog. This one is called Butter Kaya.
Butter Kaya
After we had done our pizzas at Pizza Lab, feeling kind of full, we walked pass this restaurant and to our dismay, there was no customers at all. Eventhough we were so full, husband said to just enter and to give them some positive vibes. Okay, I tried to expand my stomach.
I found the signage really adorable, the design using the initials of Butter Kaya, the alphabet B and K, B being the head and K being the legs.
Such spacious place but no customer, hopefully it was due to it was the newest in town and still low in publicity. The whole place was in yellow and black colour theme. Very comfortable place actually for snack and meeting up with family and friends. We chose to sit at the higher chairs section.
The menu consisted of many pages, and variety of food but more towards to local menu and toast.
Food we ordered
The waitress highly recommended us their toast bread because she said the Kaya (egg coconut milk jam) is their speciality and homemade with love. Indeed, it was so delicious and they used great kind of butter.
She also recommended their local coffee and tea. We were wowed by the hot milk tea, unsure why but it was especially smooth and a nice aroma of tea. The coffee was just usual local coffee but it was really good too.
She then recommended us their special puffs which were not the regular curry puffs but more special one like tomyam potato puffs, sweet potato puffs, coffee puffs, yam puffs and Gula Melaka coconut puffs. We chose the Gula Melaka coconut puffs. Delicious!!! I would come back to try other puffs.
We hope more people will know about this place and the mall put and the restaurant itself will put in some effort in publicity. We had a good dinner snack together and some chit chatting session between the boys and the father.
The place has a nice vibe 🤩 and Kaya with butter is one of my favorites anytime of the day.

That looks like a restaurant you will want to go back to another time! I haven't been very active on Hive for a long time, and your boys have been growing up. Nice to see pics of them.
