After the busy period during Chinese New Year and attending to families, relatives and friends, my husband and I felt it had been a long while we did not get to spend time together. Hence, we used nights to deliberately spent time together, after the boys went to bed. It was of course our supper time, not a good call, but it was what it was, we got to seize every available time.
Mamak #1! Nasi Kandar Azhar Maju.
For the first night, we went to check out a new Mamak located at ground floor of a new condominium nearby us. It was such a spacious Mamak, taking up two shoplots, one shop was designated for non-airconditioning section, another lot was for air-conditioning section. We sat at the lot with air-cond of course. 😁
I was dazzled by how much money they put into the renovations of the whole place. The plaster ceiling and lightings, all were properly chosen and curated, such a nice classy Mamak to hang out.
Even the section for washing hands felt like you were inside a hotel. Mind you, so beautiful..
We went to see the array of food and it was super impressive too. So many food, we were indeed spoilt for choices in Malaysia.
I had already eaten my dinner at home with the boys, therefore I only needed one hard-boiled egg. Husband took for himself a plate of sumptous nasi kandar with a goat's stomach, ladies finger, mutton curry and a gourd, of course the hardboiled at the centre was mine. I did get to try few mouthful of his meal and it wow-ed me. So delicious!!! Such robust curry flavour yums!
We got to chit chat till midnight.. but me being older, I was rather sleepy by then and wanted to go home.
Mamak #2! NZ Curry House
Another night of supper was at our favourite Mamak, NZ Curry House. This was spacious Mamak also but fully air-ventilated, open air with fans, so the ventilation was actually better than the above Mamak.
Husband ordered a poori, and Indian fried bread, made in such a way, there would be hollow at the centre for you to eat together with the potatoes curry. So so good.
I ordered a thosai ghee added egg, so delicious. It was my go-to whenever I come to NZ Curry House.
We also ended the night just relaxing chitchat and then when the clock striked midnight, the Cinderella in me called again, I wanted to go home and sleep. Lol...
Moments spent together like this was truly precious for us considering now we both are having a very busy schedule.
