Last week before my husband flew to Macau, we also had a chance to eat lunch together. Thank you to parents-in-law who was willing to take care of my youngest son so that we got to go out and spent few hours together.
We wanted to support a newly-opened restaurant in a mall. We got to pass by the restaurant and always noticed very little customers. Let's support!
Tiga Ikan
Location: KL East Mall, LG-28, Lower Ground Floor, 823, Jln Lingkaran Tengah 2, KL Timur, 53100 Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur
This restaurant is located in a mall called KL East Mall. The name of the shop is special, Tiga Ikan meaning three fish.
Menu
When we looked at the menu, we finally understood why three fish. They had menu from Korea, Japan and Malaysia. Brilliant idea!
Ambience
The waiter was so friendly to greet us and directed us to our seats. The restaurant was nicely done-up with cute fishes decoration and well-organised tables and chairs. Overall super clean.
There was a section of cakes in the centre at the entrance and a section for buffet customers to refill their tea, drinks and mini cakes.
The waiter told us they just started a special menu called eat-all-you-want buffet with free flow of green tea, black tea, drinks, fruits and mini cakes. This was actually our favourite type of menu. Per person RM49 and eat all you can, we thought it was worth it. And husband wanted to splurge me for taking care of him and home well. Let's!
Food we ordered
We ordered 2 grilled salmon teriyaki (which in the end didn't come but came all Saba fillet), 4 grilled teriyaki Saba fillet, 2 sets of Korean Chicken wings with garlic sauce, 2 sets of Korean Chicken wings with gojujang sauce, 1 fried rice with petai, 6 bowls of sambal prawns, a plate of fried salmon skin, 1 kimchi. After much consideration, we actually skipped all the ramen sections because we wanted to eat more protein than carbohydrates.
Thank God the waiter was smart enough to space out our orders accordingly so that the table didn't look so full and also we could eat batch by batch. He was alert enough to noticed whenever we finished certain meal and he proceeded to go and take out another order. Cool!
We really loved the grilled teriyaki Saba fillet from Japan cuisine and the Korean chicken. So delicious!
The sambal prawns, our local dish, were to die for too! The fried rice with petai ( stinky beans) was so well cooked with wok-hei!
Initially we thought the restaurant would disappoint us looking at the little crowd there and that we went just for the purpose of supporting the owner. Little did we know, the kitchen chef did their great job and all food were delicious. Blew our mind! When we were eating, the owner was actually brainstorming with her workers what to do next to attract customers. Bless her business to do well! My husband and I got to spend time together and that's the most awesome one. Later after lunch, we went to pack coffee so that we could sip in the car on the way home!
The place looks big, the ambiance and good too and the food 🤤🤤. They all look delicious. It's a good idea to serve different foods and from different country at that. At least the costumers will have a more choices when it comes to their dishes.
