Arrival and Registration:

Bogo City was buzzing with the excitement of thousands of pilgrims from not just Districts 5, 6, and 7, but also from various Parishes of the Archdiocese of Cebu, as they came together for a much awaited event for them. The official start transforming journey of today, November 29, 2024, has become a promise to strengthen their faith and links of unity as well as stir hearts for the days ahead. And as the sun rose in the city, Bogo began to fill up with excitement in its lively streets. From the busy and bustling towns came a horde of pilgrims from all walks of life, yet all sharing a common goal. They started to fill the streets that led to these designated registration sites. There was a buzz of energy, with excited chatter and laughter filling the air as they began to meet friends old and new.

A pilgrimage, for many a believer, was not a journey but a call-an answer to draw them toward God and entrench them more in their Catholic faith. The pilgrims were clearly marked with that sense of purpose: delight was glaring in the bright eyes of youth and peaceful serenity was found among the elders who had already been on such pilgrimage before.

When registration opened, the atmosphere filled with beautiful orderliness and warmth. Each pilgrim received a smile and then directed to their registration counters, where they picked up their official materials, identification badges, program schedules, and a special thing to remind them of the occasion. The act of registering became a rite of passage for those pilgrims as a commitment to the journey before them.

It was a gathering but of physical presence and even greater spiritual union. The very walls of this hall of registration seemed to reverberate with the multitude of hearts striving simultaneously to fulfill one common mission. Along with all the accompanying touch of registration, there was a quieter, undercurrent of reverence and solemnity. Stopping briefly from their journeys into the future, many pilgrims offered a prayer of quiet thanks for the opportunity to undertake this sacred journey. Others gathered in small clusters, some with old friends sharing memories and others talking about reflections and prayers, all slowly beginning to unfold the awareness of the community.

The event not only brought together people from different places, but parishes also from varying locations across Cebu. All that gathered were members of many parishes that came together to not only extend their faith at this event but also to draw nearer to God. The diversity of people was perhaps the most inspiring paperwork of the day; young and old, from bustling city neighborhoods to quiet rural areas, standing solid as one body in Christ.

Here, it richens the experience of togetherness, kinship, and opportunity to connect, learn, and bask in the joy of this very memorable occasion.

Pakighimamat and Barrio Fiesta are very much open doors to celebrating our common values and traditions and experiencing the warmth and hospitality of Bogo City. Bogo takes pride in hosting this year's event since it is a splendid showcase of everything our city and people can give. We are very proud to have been chosen as one of the few festival sites to be held during this grand activity, considering that we will even have the 33rd Local World Youth Day here in Bogo City. This is unique and rare for our community, and we will ensure that this event is recorded as one of the most awesome in history..

Indeed, hard work and sometimes exhaustive preparations go into that event, but nothing is worth the effort more than all the joy that fills the heart. It takes unrelenting energy, attention to detail, and dedicated commitment to organize an event of this scale; it will guarantee the presence of everyone who will experience it as landed from an extraordinary journey. It's once a year, so we need to give it maximum output and showcase to our visitors the best experience of our rich culture, our hospitality, and true Bogo City. Gushing energy, enthusiasm, hastily displayed, togetherness can be touched by so rather every one of us as we gather to make this event a grand success.

The 33rd Local World Youth Day is a very personal activity for the city, and hosting such an event is quite an honor for Bogo. Bringing youth from up and down, the event has now reached the bonding of all youth together through their faith, hope, and zest for a better tomorrow. It truly is an honor for Bogo City to be part of a global movement, and for this, we are grateful to able to lend our hospitality and vibrant culture to these young people

Dance Presentation:

One of the highlights of the celebration today is the mesmerizing Dance Presentation of the Filipe R. Verallo Memorial Foundation College. The students of this institution invigorated the event with their performances. It was an indeed colorful manner of welcoming our visitors into the institution and giving them a glimpse of the rich traditions and the creativity that our young people possess. An endorsement of what the talent and dedication in our community can produce, and we are very proud of what they have done.

The effort put in by the students was evidenced at every move with each and every step revealing the hard training and passion associated with their art. Every spectator was greeted with this infectious energy as they beamed with happiness and enthusiasm, setting the mood for the entire celebration. Through dance, pride in one's culture was expressed along with the performance of his art. Not only that, this dance performance was used not to describe art, but even more so the spirit and strength of the city.

Rondalla Presentation:

The presentation by the Rondalla of the City of Bogo Science and Arts Academy struck a moving chord within the whole event. Students of this dear school spent time and talents sharing a little glimpse of the musical culture that is an important part of our communities. For the gathering, the Rondalla with its harmonious strings brought about the feeling of serenity and joy, harnessing the energy of the earlier dance performance. Through their music, City of Bogo Science and Arts Academy students reminded all of us about deep cultural roots that bond us together.

The presentation would be a reminder of the necessity of keeping and taking pride in the glory of our rich traditions even while looking forward to brighter tomorrows. We need all students to show their dedication and love for music in order to master such a fine art form. It was a pretty way to exhibit unique talents, proving that the city of Bogo opens up its doors to some of the most gifted and creative individuals.

Ahhhh, this is the youth event I am referring to last time, but I attended only just the District Youth Day. Church events like this are really one of my memorable experience. 🫶🏻

Yeah it's very unforgettable experience that I had since it my first time joining this kind of event. I'm also part of the committee head that's why I learned a lot from this activity ñ. Althought is quite tiring but yet it's very nice to witness this event.

faith it is!🙏🏻

Faith that leads to the person who we are and the important lesson that we learned from this momentous event.

What an inspiring event that brings youth together to grow in faith and unity! It’s amazing to see everyone’s hard work and passion for this celebration @junnyjun 💗

It's quite tiring but if you put that this is for the Lord everything will be good. And with that, all the work you do is nothing but satisfying to witness the young youth experiencing a nice moment for staying here in Bogo and the most important is the memories we created and the bond that is very unforgettable.

What a good experience that you have, @junnyjun. And as I scroll down at your blog, kaila diay mo ni Sir Jeth Boy Gastador? He was my math teacher when I was in my junior high school days. Wow, what a small world!

Yeah that's our head committee here in Bogo.

What an amazing event that foster faith among the youth💓

We had a 1 year preparation on this kind of event since it's a big occasion from the various Archdiocese of Cebu. As a head committee, yes is very tiring. To the point your eyes will open 24hours to prepare everything but yet everything is alright.

Happy to have this event, bringing the youth closer to faith and having a connection to each other🙂

I see the excitement for the different activities during that event Sir @junnyjun
