This post is a big ol' September recap, filled with all the fun, the challenges, and everything in between. Get ready to dive in and experience it all with me! 😊
Our town's festival, held on September 15th, 2024, concluded with a series of exciting events. One of these events was the CTU Nite, a program showcasing the talents and creativity of our school. Initially scheduled after the festival, it was postponed due to weather conditions. However, to our delight, CTU Nite was rescheduled for September 19th.
I arrived at school early that afternoon, around 1:00 PM, to work on a presentation for our "Hazard Hunt" report. My classmates and I were starting to feel the pressure as the deadline loomed. My friend then messaged me, suggesting that the report might be postponed because CTU Nite was happening that day. We were hesitant to believe it without an official memo, but our president reassured us that it was true. The dancers and performers were already in the city, and the memo was just being processed.
We were thrilled! We quickly packed our things and prepared to head to the town. Unfortunately, one of my classmates was unable to join us due to a severe stomach ache, which was a bit of a bummer.
Once we arrived in town, we decided to start at the playground, affectionately known as "Children's Paradise." To my surprise, I saw a familiar face – Teacher Ives! She was a former coworker from CIJ, and I missed her dearly. We caught up, reminiscing about our time together and sharing updates about our lives. Teacher Ives, a general education teacher, is currently observing at a public school, so she needed to get some rest.
After our reunion, my classmates and I went to the boardwalk, where we could hear the performers rehearsing for CTU Nite. We were there to earn attendance points, so we waited patiently. Suddenly,
Teacher Chel messaged me, asking if I was already at the event. She wanted to hang out because her classmates hadn't arrived yet. I was happy to meet up with her and we chatted about various things. Even though we see each other at school regularly, we always forget to take photos together! I'm always eager to capture these moments with my co-teachers.
I also saw Teacher AJ, also known as Teacher Angelina. We had become closer during a recent overtime shopping trip at SM Seaside, where our students were merged together. She's a very nice person and a fantastic dancer. I wasn't able to ask her for a photo because we weren't that close yet. I also caught up with Teacher Cris, and we even took a picture with Teacher Chel. Teacher Cris and Chel headed off to grab some food, while I stayed to mark my attendance.
I also saw Teacher Crisna, but I was too distracted to ask for a photo. I was surprised to see that she and my old friend Lea Mae, or Miyang, were co-teachers and classmates!
After signing my attendance sheet, I went home and went to sleep. I almost got into an accident right in front of my house, which was incredibly scary!
September 21st, Saturday, we had our class during the afternoon. It was Industrial Psychology, and we had a debate about our last discussions. It was fun and also frustrating because we were supposed to have our first report, and one of my classmates, who is in my group, didn't do her part. She crammed everything into her part, but she was able to answer and do her part, though. It frustrated me because I was worried that our teacher would get mad or
something, but he didn't. We continued our debate, and our teacher kept adding some necessary jokes, which were funny, though, during our class. He knows that our time is a very sleepy one, around 1 to 3 p.m. It's kind of a sleepy or resting hour, so yeah. After that moment, our second class, which is AST, we had a report. We thought that we were also going to report, but our teacher told us that we would report at the next meeting. So, all our hard work went to nothing, but it was fine. We can just improve.
After that, we went to our town and went thrifting with my classmates. Then, we watched the event in our town, which was many boat races.
It was amazing because it was the first time I'd seen an event like that. Yeah, even though the festival in our town is already done, they're still catering a lot of events, so the town is still lively. After that, we ate at the boardwalk. We bought some drinks, especially at Don Macchiato. Some of my friends bought some caramel latte, and I bought black forest coffee. I also bought this rice bowl that cost 80 pesos, which had stir-fried chicken. Just so delicious,
by the way. We just kept sitting there to kill time because we were waiting for my friend's boyfriend. He was going to drive her home, so we just kept sitting there and waiting for the live band to start. We just started talking about a lot of things. Then, we were kind of surprised because the live band had an entrance fee. The people that were already inside had to go out, and if they wanted to stay there, they had to pay 50 pesos. Of course, we went out, but before we went out, we bought some fries and some drinks 🍷 to give to my mom when I got home. After that, we went out to the boardwalk and started walking. We departed their different ways, saying goodbye. Yeah, it was a memorable night. We talked about a lot of things, especially since it was the first time we had gathered together. Even though we were missing two friends, we're always like the three of us, but now at least one of our friends is with us now. So, it's like progress, but I hope soon all of us can have a bonding experience.✨
