Today, I woke up earlier than the sun, because I had a scheduled run with someone.
This person came into my life exactly on December 25, last year. I did not expect his appearance as I never knew someone with such an unusual name. We were complete strangers. Yet, I felt this light and effortless urge to communicate and build a connection with him.
This agenda of ours is quite funny to look back on, because originally the deal was that he was supposed to achieve a perfect score for his major exam so that in return, we would have this run. It would be like hitting two birds with one stone. He spent his exhausting nights to study to achieve his goal. But frustratingly funny, he got a mistake. And it was only one! Out of 60 questions. So the deal was immediately void afterwards.
Now, a week later from that exam day, we just agreed to take that run without terms and conditions. As a reward for completing the first semester of the year. We both went through a lot. So, here we are. Awkwardly spending our first few moments together, haha. We're supposed to keep this as a secret because I'm not completely allowed to go out with someone yet, but I just went through with it. The design is very teenager. Along the road, an Auntie passed by us, looking confusedly – she was my mom's friend. What a risk!
Last night, we both agreed to run at 4 in the morning because we have to meet halfway as we live quite far from each other. But unfortunately, I woke up at half past four. He was already ready to run while I was still stretching my face muscles, haha. Even though I am closer to the hall where we should run, I was the one late! He even met me halfway from the spot where we should originally meet.
It was scary because we both had to run in the dark corners of the road, just to have a long run and to avoid the sun's hot rays. As it was still early, the cool morning air went through my body even with a jacket on. I can here my deep breaths and footsteps from the hush of dawn. Along our own way, he encountered a snake, and I had to dodge a few dogs. We both ran even faster, haha. Despite that, we still had something to adore – The first rays of the somnolent Mr. Sun. Here are our different points of view.
Then we met, ran towards the track and chatted along. We did not have enough photos, because our attention was diverted to talking.
Running for hours with him feels the same as the day we first chatted. We ran to each other sometimes, but we didn't interact much. Now that I get to spend time with him, I found out he is calm and reserved. He doesn't speak without thinking it through. Yet with such formality, he is also quirky. He is protective – because he is capable of doing so. He is also thoughtful. Maybe in general, I'd say he is peaceful and fun to be with. I feel safe around him.
Though these are considered superficial knowledge about someone, because we are just beginning to know each other, I think his true character will eventually reveal itself. And, I place my hope and trust in GOD about it.
I don't know what he thinks about me after the run. I didn't bother asking also. But what matters is that we had our first run! I think it was over 10 kilometers for him and 7 for mine. I'm grateful for him and for his patience with me. Maybe some other time, we'll have our run again.
At 7 in the morning we finished our run and went separate ways.

What if, it's not about waiting and looking for someone to perfectly show their love towards you? What if, it should be you first cultivating love towards yourself and to the people around, then maybe after that, you'll receive love in return? You'll benefit yourself either ways.
Regardless of what the future holds, at least I showed what I genuinely have to offer.

Eyyy, but that's a wholesome bonding though, a run with him. Its also like another way to date each other, in a fun and really tiring way, lol - its kinda cute too. Lol. But I mean, did your parents allow it? At 4 am? I mean maybe 4:30 or 5? Its too dark pa diba? UoU. Anyways you surely enjoy the run with him 🤭✨
