Join me on a lazy bank holiday weekend

just how I feel about these coming days

It is Friday and I am off for four days now. Yey! Despite of not having made plans for this long weekend, I simply feel relaxed and at peace. There is no deadline to meet, no tasks to work on or colleagues to interact with but just pure serenity at home with my furry companions ‘Haru’ and ‘Sakura’.

Yesterday, I left work around 5pm to head home and to do some groceries. We usually have a day of doing all of our shopping once a month and then just buy add ons in between if needed. It is quite fun and therapeutic in a sense because you get to see nice stuff on shelves and get to pick items which you then can enjoy with your love ones at home; whether it’s a tub of delicious ice cream, mixed nuts or a bar of chocolate.

This morning I woke up around 9am which is for me quite a luxury as I ordinarily have to wake up at 5:30am to get ready for work. I did my morning routine and right after got Sakura and Haru dressed up to go to the park. I put on my wellies as yesterday it was raining and thought the field would still be wet. The two were excited to go out as always, so we made our way. At the park, it is just delightful to see both of them run around carefree and enjoy themselves. They would sniff on other dogs that pass us by and sometimes even play with them.

Haru, the little one, is very much hyperactive and vocal whereas Sakura, her mom, is more calm in nature.

I guess that is what my four days will look like. I will do a lot of sleep ins, lying down on the couch to join Sakura and Haru in their afternoon naps and just have spa-like moments at home i.e. in my interpretation listening to music, watching some rom-com shows and eat some home cooked food.

I can imagine that you all may agree that it is certainly important to find time for yourself once in a while and to pamper yourself in whatever way. It isn’t necessary to go far and perhaps book a holiday. In my opinion even time off at home with love ones does your spirit and mental health great. Allow yourself to recharge and to clear your headspace from a week of potential stressful events, work related arguments and other bits and bobs.

Have a lovely day everyone !
