Since it is Friday, it was a great time to unwind after work, not to mention that I traveled to Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon yesterday to watch the National Basketball League. But when I arrived at the place there was a beautiful sunset that made me stop for a while before entering the gymnasium.
When I heard about the National Basketball League Finals from my colleague, I was excited to watch since it is one of the rare moments that Manolo Fortich will be hosting such a wonderful big event. I am living in the province of Bukidnon, Philippines, which is why I felt honored that our municipality will be the venue for a National game.
I got out of my workplace at 4:30 p.m. and traveled to Manolo Fortich Gymnasium. From my workplace, it is only fifteen to twenty minutes to travel to the venue. While I was in the car, I assumed that the ticket would be expensive since it was a National game, but then I was wrong since the entry ticket was so affordable.
As I arrived at Manolo Fortich, I noticed the glowing and colorful rays. I love to chase sunsets and I must say that I too am a sunset hunter. As I got out of the vehicle, I was so excited to capture such a beautiful moment.
The gymnasium is just beside the plaza. Instead of entering there, I strolled for a moment and captured several quick snapshots while the Sun was going down. And here are some of the photos that I have captured.
There were many spectators all around this place. So we just parked the car at the moment at Manolo Fortich Plaza where I saw a beautiful glow. I was able to capture the Church with a background of the lovely sky and the sunset that looked like a painting. As much as I was so excited to have many clicks, I was delighted to have selfies too so I got some candid shots at the stairs while it was a Sundown.
I did not change my wear and I was still in a Type B Uniform when I went there. After taking some candid shots, I strolled all around the plaza as I tried to hunt the sunset at different angles. Many kids were playing and a lot of students had been there since school was near the place. I continued walking around and I met some friends I had never seen for a long time.
Perhaps there was a big crowd both inside and outside because of the National Basketball League. I was able to capture the wonderful Plaza at certain angles while the radiant and colorful rays of the sunset were displayed in the sky like a painting.
When I noticed that the sky was turning darker and the sunset was fading, I finally decided to enter the gymnasium. I did not know what teams were competing but all I heard while I was outside was the loudest cheers and screams of the people inside the Manolo Fortich gymnasium.
Aside from the crowd of people watching the National Basketball League, there were also many Road Traffic Accident Enforcers and Policemen surrounding the event so I felt safe while I was there.
Afterward, I entered the gymnasium with an entrance of only 20 pesos or only 0.35 dollars. How affordable the ticket was! Honestly, I was truly expecting that it would be expensive since it was a National league.
And that, here I am now seated at the bleachers with a huge crowd. I got a stamp on my arm indicating that I had paid for the entrance. So whenever I went in and out of the gymnasium, I could easily go to and fro since I already had a stamp. I did go outside since I left my power bank and my mobile phone’s battery was almost empty.
I asked one of the people inside about the teams who played and it made me excited since it was a match between Calamba, Laguna Team all the way from Manila, and the Cagayan De Oro City Team. This game category was 21 years old under players and I was betting for Cagayan De Oro City since this is the nearest city to my place.
I have captured the moments while the two teams were closely competing for the fight. It was a close fight. There were many offensive fouls and more but then at the end of the game, what mattered was how the game was played and the referee’s decision too.
Both of the team’s score were equal during the last quarter. And what made the other team win was a free shot. The other team only leading 1 point. So it was so disappointing for the other team. But then, after all, it is sports. What matters most in every game is the ability to accept the reality either win or lose.
This is now the final second of the came and I am happy to say that my team won on the game not to mention the players from Cagayan de Oro City.
And of course, I was so happy that they won. I took a moment to capture myself while I was inside the gymnasium. And then after we went outside to have dinner.
Ah! This day was so wonderful and I had a great time chasing hoops and the beautiful sunset.

Teams all around the Philippines sis. It was a big event because it is a National League. Today is the National Finals and I have heard that Cagayan de Oro City was the Champion. Biboo kaayo Manolo now naay night cafe sab.

What a good treat you got my friend. I'm a huge fan of basketball. My son is really good and fun to watch. Season starts in a month or so :) I can't wait to watch him play this year. Hoping for a good season out of him, he's got a good chance at playing at the next level and saving me out of pocket expenses 🙏
Wow! It is great to know that your son is a basketball player. Surely you are his best coach. Here in the Philippines, most Filipinos love basketball not to mention that everybody is waiting for the PBA and NBA Finals.
