Greetings everyone, I am happy to share with everyone in this community how my day went today as a national service personnel. It is yet another exciting Wednesday which means that we are in the mid week. I therefore thought of sharing this post of mine with everyone in this great community. I hope we are all doing well and hoping for the best in life. No matter the situation we find ourselves in let’s have hope for a positive future.
As part of my office duties, we are to ensure that every car which uses the roads of Ghana specifically Tamale must have insurance cover. This is compulsory by the law and for that matter it is necessary that we do it as law abiding citizens. Therefore my boss and other workers in my office saw the need to carry out a law enforcement operation today and for that matter the police service was involved.
This is me checking the insurance of the car
I had a call as early as 6am to prepare and set out to the destination of where the exercise was going to be held. I then contacted my fellow colleague to hurry up so we could move together since she isn’t very familiar with areas around town. I then headed to her place of residence to pick her to the place. We were a bit late because of how ladies prepare with a lot of time. It kind of made my boss to be angry but later one he was cool. We had a brief meeting or discussion as to how we are to carry out the exercise. The commander of the police service made available the policemen to be distributed among the various checkpoints.

We then set off to our various checkpoints to carry out our duties. One thing interesting about this exercise is that you get to meet all caliber of people. That is the troublesome ones, the funny ones and the law abiding ones. Some people have made up their minds not to get their vehicles insured forgetting the benefits they get from it. This type of people are referred to as the ignorant people. The need to insure one’s property is very important and so far as car insurance is concerned it is very necessary.

You might be wondering why we pressing our phones in checking out the insurance. Yes! There is a short code whereby we use to check from the system as to whether the car has insurance or not. This short code is 92057#. This code is used in Ghana to check whether the car or motor has insurance and also details of the insurance pops up. It was brought up the Information technology department of my office at the headquarters some years back and it has been adapted to our system. This makes it very easy for getting the information on the insurance of the car. This also gives as the opportunity to get hold of people that do fake insurance with people since it won’t be captured into the system. It was a very great initiative and had been of great help to we those at the insurance industry.
My boss and I during our leisure time
This was the activity we carried out throughout and the day and it was very tiring. But one way or the other it was very interesting as well. We had fun in the checking out the insurance of the cars and also trying to educate or correct the ignorant ones on the need to get their cars insured.
Thank you very much for your time.
