Croffle with matcha topping and a hot lemon tea to accompany work
I was searching of café recommendation with reliable wifi in my city on tiktok and this place come up. Loka Coffee and Eatery is located in west Surabaya. If it wasn’t because I passed by this café on the way home from my go-to coffee shop, I wouldn’t even remember this place. And since its not too far from my house, I’m going there the next day.
First thing first, I think their menu is pretty affordable. They also have a variety of main dishes but I only ordered drink and snack. I wanted to try their burnt cheese cake but it was out of stock that day so since the staff suggested croffle, I agreed. One pack contains 4 croffles and flavored paste topping. From the menu picture, there are 2 topping flavors but it turns out we can only choose one. So from chocolate, tiramisu, and matcha, I chose the latter. I wasn’t in the mood for coffee that day, so I paired my order with a hot lemon tea.
Croffle is best eatan warm, of course. It tasted okay because I didn’t even know how a croffle is supposed to taste like. However, I didn’t like the consistency of the topping. I didn’t know what I was expecting, but it was really a paste, with a dry-ish texture if you know what I mean. But the matcha flavor was okay too, so it was enough to accompany me doing my work.
I have no point to compare this place with the coffee shop I visit most often, but I think this cafe could be my another go-to option. With the menu prices and stable wifi, the ambience of this café feels quite right for my preference. After finishing my work, I checked out the other side of the café besides the one where I sat for hours. Loka has an outdoor area filled with greenery. No one in the outdoor area when I was there, so it seems like a good spot if I want to be alone.
This café also has a small space for performances. From the content I’ve watched on tiktok, they have a live music performance once in a while—maybe there’s a fixed schedule, I don’t know. I really want to try working near the outdoor area but I’m not sure about the wifi connection so we’ll see how it goes another day hehe

That cafe looks really pretty though, it had a nice ambience in it. It's the kind where you can enjoy relaxing or maybe do some work while sipping a cup of drinks. I think your food choice is just right. But why it's called croffle? That's the first timr I heard that name actually.
oh my bad for not explaining it cause I thought everyone had tried croffles except me😁 its basically a croissant dough thats put into a waffle iron so it forms the shape, if thats make sense😅 anyway, thankyou so much for reading my blog :)
Ohhhhh, I saw some video doing just like that in a croissant but I didn't know it's called croffle. I'm not sure if they mentioned it there, I'm too focus in the food that I never noticed haha. I like to try that too 🤤🤩
That cafe looks really serene! By the way I have this brewville community you can check out where you can also do reviews of coffee shops. I'd like to see more of coffee shops in Surabaya😆
but like any other cafes, the atmosphere also depends on the visitors that day😅 oh I thought brewville was only for coffee-lovers and coffee related things, so I thought my post won't fit the community..
