My house desperately needs repairs. But the repair requires finances. And repairs require hands. But there are big difficulties with finances now, and my friend, who helped me with repairs, is now at the war.
But the moment came when I realised that I would just go crazy if I had to keep looking at this gloomy picture. I decided that I would do what I could myself.
Fortunately, my house has smooth walls. That's why I just chose wallpaper that already has an adhesive base. It was my first experience and I was a little nervous. But then I thought that even if I didn't do too well, the only person it concerns me. This is my home and I do what I think is necessary. It gave me confidence. So, my first experiment was the hall of the second floor.
What turned out looks good. At least it's clean and neat unlike walls with flying wallpaper. Even if I did something wrong, it's okay. This experience was useful. I became more experienced in the choice of materials and now I know that for such large surfaces it is better to choose roll wallpaper, not small squares, as I did.
Now I'm busy repairing the stairs. The work is moving a little slowly because it's a pretty dusty activity. Each step should be cleaned of old paint and plastered. In addition, the edges should be polished. I do one step a day. Too much dust and it becomes difficult to breathe. In addition, my battery tools need a new charge. But nevertheless, I'm moving forward and I like the result. There's no need to hurry. I still won't be able to paint the stairs until the weather is warm enough.
It sounds funny, but buying construction tools has become my new hobby. Usually this is what men do. But I've already started to understand all this. In addition, the sellers of our small construction store are watching my experiments with interest and are always ready to help with advice. It's fun
Good for you tackling those big jobs by yourself. I love how you used the brick in between the doors. Sanding those stairs is a huge job in itself. When finances are tight one can always find a way. ♥
Good to see you handled things by yourself. It's encouraging thank you for sharing this wonderful piece
