Because we have no other option, we're hustling through sickness and health. I rarely get sick, but when I do, it seems like my entire body is inflamed. It's only the second time I've had a bad cough, tonsils, and sinuses irritated, as well as generalized body pain. If I'm not mistaken, the last time I saw him was in the winter of 2020.
I rushed the healing process since I find it very inconvenient to work while it's healing. There is so much discomfort when I cough or sneeze that I'd rather hold it in. If the cough is accompanied by other ailments and discomforts, it is a complete nuisance.
In addition, my tonsils are irritated, which makes it difficult for me to swallow solid food. A lack of appetite and a desire for Filipino cuisine are the most common side effects of this illness. Arozcaldo (porridge) and sinigang (pork sinigang) are some of the most common dishes provided to ill family members.
When I'm feeling under the weather in the Philippines, I enjoy sipping on soups. The flavor would be different, even if I could make it here.
With this in mind, I decided to venture out into the rainy and dreary weather yesterday to buy some food. I felt depressed and downcast after reading it. I long to return home to my mother's care, where I may indulge in all of my appetites and get the rest I need.
I went to the grocery store to get honey because so many people stated honey with lemon is the greatest remedy for a cough. I can't help but feel worse when I see how much honey costs here. In order to convert this into Philippine pesos, the lowest option will cost more than Php400. Lemons here cost HK$20 for three slices or Php140 in Hong Kong. That's a real annoyance.
When I'm looking to buy something, there are occasions when I don't want to look at the costs first. I'm afraid I'm going to be starving soon, lol. Checking over the other side of the stall, I found a Korean honey lemon citron tea that is far less expensive than the honey. Lemon and honey are already in this product, so I'm not sure how much better it would be to use pure honey with lemon. I'm merely looking for a honey-based beverage. So far, the flavor is good.
The bananas I purchased were because I enjoy eating them every day and because they contain anti-oxidants. My yearning for Filipino soup led me to purchase poultry and papaya for my chicken tinola recipe.
And there you have it!
a papaya and chicken tinola dish Because I couldn't find moringa in my area, I threw in some Chinese celery leaves.
Even so, it had a distinct taste of chicken soup, but it was far from what I'm used to eating back home. Most likely due to the fact that the chicken wasn't fresh, and in the Philippines, fresh native chicken from the market is the norm while cooking chicken.
As a result of the inflammation in my tonsils, I'm unable to properly digest solid foods. To make it more nutritious, I opted to cook porridge and threw in some pumpkin. Plain porridge with no seasonings.
Besides the Chinese herbal syrup, which I take three times a day, my boss provided me this Chinese medicine that could assist disperse the lungs and remove toxins from the body for coughs, colds, flu, and other respiratory ailments. I'm forced to take four pills three times a day, which is too much for me to handle. Accepting that this was a herbal remedy, I thought that I would improve after taking it.
Rather of producing articles in my spare time, I've decided to take a nap. The hour at which I went to bed was earlier than usual. Also, after reading about the lymphatic drainage massage last night, I've decided to incorporate it into my bedtime routine going forward. Since I am rapidly running out of drafts, I need to improve my skills immediately. So I'm sorry if I'm rambling on about things that don't make any sense.
