Why just one thing? Why not two, three, ten, and even more things? Hive means a lot to many of us. It means something and more to me. There's so much to love about it here, far beyond what we take notice of.
I'm one of those who has been here a while and, who, although, isn't so frequent, is stuck here for the longest. No leave, no transfer-ish.
Before I found Hive, I used to write a lot. I jotted down my thoughts, I wrote about sides to sentimental issues and gave illustrations on both angles. I would literally write whatever came to mind. I always preferred to write rather than speak. Always. But i wrote them to me and for me. I never shared with anyone.
When I found here, it was exciting for me. Others were going to read me. I hoarded my articles and loathed it when anyone tried to see them, but somehow, i was excited at this new prospect. And being someone who loved to read, I was glad I would get to see perspectives from others, particularly with the general prompt topics. It felt good.
And so when I started to write on here, every now and then, I'd receive compliments on how I write well and all of those praises. I knew I tried, but it came as a pleasant surprise that others saw me in that light and enjoyed my works. Getting this feedback was delightful.
And you know what, too. I would usually take the time, every single day, to just write random thoughts from my head. Anything at all that strikes me. Every single day. Sometimes, there were things to write. Other times, I had a blank mind, and so it was forced. It got to the point where I had to use monthly prompts from pinterest(don't blame the girl... she wants to write).
However, since joining Hive, I proposed to use this place as my digital diary. And it's just so helpful that I don't have to always ponder on topics. The prompts come so handy.
And so I can say that one thing I very much appreciate about Hive, which also doubles as one of the many things that it's done for me, is the help with my writing. For every time I come across an old post that I had made and make comparisons to these recent ones, I get in awe of how much I have really grown.
I know I don't do badly with piecing words together, but Hive has been instrumental to shaping and sharpening my writing skills. Not to forget that it's helped me stay true to and connected to one of the few things that I know how to do and like to do.
There are other benefits, of course, including the one that looms around in our minds and is a very mutual reason why we love it here, but this has to be the first one for me. This one!
Thanks for gracing this post.
Greetings!
