I like that particularly statement.
I hardly find any advantage of double dating even. For something built on lies, deceit, unfaithfulness, I don't see how it can even turn out good. The perceived advantages like you said always even crumble at the end. Not to talk of the stress joggling the two relationships and the cover ups. That's just unnecessary stress creating a lack of peace even. Some may find it as fun, but the repercussions always come.
