As a person, I literally think the way you carry yourself matters a lot. You should never look down on yourself as a person, firstly. The way you carry yourself most times gives other people the first impression of how they address you.
Firstly, you should always be your number 1 fan before any other person. Believe in yourself so much that you give other people a lot of reasons to believe in you. Some people sometimes just see themselves as if they are not worth the stand of whatsoever task that might be before them. Which is a negative way of progressing and coming out of your shell.
I used to be a person that had low self-esteem at some point in my musical life. But then, my mom had to sit me down at some point in time and talk a lot of sense into my head and give me reasons not to have a low self-esteem about myself and be proud of myself. I was always running away from invites to go play at some stages that year as a drummer.
Not because I was not good, but because I was always seeing myself as a person who hasn't gotten to that level where I should play there. I saw that after a long while as a low self-esteem. Because I would have, as a younger man that year, connected to more people who were better than me, because I was not the baddest drummer that year, but I was also a star in my field.
I already had the basic knowledge of the major things I needed to know as a drummer. And not just as a normal drummer, but as a professional one. I got to understand better with time that I was only wasting my time and opportunity to connect with other bigger stars that year by limiting myself and staying in my comfort zone due to the results of my low self-esteem to face the world.
Because I was literally limiting myself and seeing myself as a person who hasn't gotten to that stage. But then, I got to know with time that all I needed was to keep up with a high self-esteem and face the world. That was something many of my co-musicians knew ahead of me, and it really helped them grow better on time compared to me.
It really helped them in growing better and faster. Because the moment you put yourself out, you get more people to appreciate your craft more compared to when you do those things in your secret place, you get to bless people with the good thing you're blessed with, and you also get to be corrected by people who are far ahead of you, which actually makes you better at the end of the day.
I think being corrected was something I was actually running away from while growing up as a musician. I was always scared to fail and never had the understanding that you cannot be all perfect. There's never a story without a scar. You need to fail to be able to learn some things and be prepared for the tougher stages you might encounter in the future.
Imagine if I kept up with that behavior of running from correction because I don't want to look like a failure; I'll literally just end up being that failure I was actually running from at the end of the day. Put yourself out today and kill that low self-esteem in you before it kills you.
No one is ever ready for the tough stages of life. The moment you get to realize more that you can't always run away from the lessons of life, instead you only get to postpone them to a time where it seems inconvenient for you, is the early time to start to face reality and also conquer the things that make you feel less of yourself.
Trust me when I say you'll definitely overcome them when the time comes. The thing is, you can actually do whatever thing you really see as a big deal when you're ready to. It's a thing of personal life decisions, and the mindset also matters. Stay positive always about whatever thing that makes you have low self-esteem and watch out for the great results in the future.
No one knows it all. Put yourself outside today and kill that voice in you that says you can't do it. Thank you all for taking the time to read through this post. This is my entry for the #FebruaryInleoPrompt, Day 2. Happy new month, everyone. Peace and love always! ❤️

Aww it's so nice to see that you no longer hide yourself. You're really talented and Im sure you've heard that a thousand times. Don't ever let self doubt cloud your thoughts.
Like you said, nobody is perfect and the only way to grow is to accept criticism and work on that
Thank you so much for your heart melting words Meya! It truly means a lot to me. Self-doubt can be a major obstacle, but supportive people like you help one stay confident and focused.
Criticism is something everyone go through and we should always see it as a growth opportunity. Thank you so much for stopping by once again Meya❤️
