Two days ago was my birthday, being 12th of March. I woke up early in the morning and did my morning devotion as usual. Thanking God and appreciating Him for making me to see another year added to my years. After which I took my phone to post on Facebook and Wasap. The moment I login on Facebook I saw a lot of people posted me already. I was so excited and starting smiling while I was still in the bed before I post mine as well. I took my bath and went to work.
Reaching work that morning my colleagues, nurse Martha and Esther started singing "Happy Birthday To Emma The Laboratory Man" and I joined them singing,shaking my head and jumping up and down filled with laughter in my mouth. It was fun that morning and I was so happy. Few minutes later patients started coming to the facility we paused the celebration and went to our various place of work till closing hours. Around 4pm the director of the facility of Garba's Clinic Opposite Jobluck Hotel Ubbe Akwanga, Nasarawa State Nigeria. Called all the staffs on duty to his office and they celebrated me by singing and prayed for me. I went to the shop and bought drinks and biscuits for all the staffs. I couldn't get anything more than that because I don't have enough money and I didn't plan to celebrate it in a bigger way than this.
After I closed from work my aunty called me and asked me to meet her at her house. I took a bike and went to her house around 5:45pm and met her and her kids but her husband isn't around, he traveled to Lafia for his place of work conference meeting.
They sang for me too and she served me this delicious meal as my birthday food haha 🤣🤣.
After which she told me she will transfer a small amount of money so I can get myself something eatable on my way going home or refill my gas. I left her house and went back home.
At night, around 8pm my girlfriend visited me unexpectedly with birthday cake and a beautiful frame. When I saw her with the cake and the frame I was so excited to an extent I started shouting and screening she had to calm down me. The reason I said my girlfriend came unexpectedly is because she is schooling in Abuja, which is the federal capital of Nigeria and I told her I wasn't planning any big birthday celebration because I don't have enough money. I remembered telling her not to border herself coming since transportation is high and considering she is a student. When she came that night she told me she finished her last lecture after 6:45pm that's why she came this night because she couldn't afford to miss my birthday no matter how hard things are tóugh.
She dropped the cake and presented the beautiful frame to me. When I open the frame it was so beautiful and I appreciate all her efforts for coming all the way from Abuja to celebrate my birthday with me.
I know at my age and according to my plans, this is not where I suppose to be by now. I have had plans and dreams I thought I should have fulfilled by now but not all things works according to how we want it but God's time. I sat down and reason about my dreams, visions, and things I could have had in my position at this age but couldn't get them and I felt sad a little bit.
But what gives me joy was the fact that God has kept me alive and healthy. I wasn't sick or admitted in the hospital. Then I realized being alive and healthy is more important than anything else. For as long as one is alive and healthy there's still hope for acquiring and fulfilling those dreams and visions in life.
My advice to anyone reading my experience today, I know you've gone through a lot of challenges and difficult moments. It seems like your dreams aren't coming to fulfilment or your destiny is being denial. But believe me, as long as you are still alive and healthy you can still achieve your dreams and fulfill your destiny in this life. Just don't give up yet, you're closer to your destiny than how you started. Keep pushing , keep hustling and keep holding on to your faith.
