How I am Managing My New Year's Resolutions

It is very easy to take a pen and a paper or rush to our notepads to write down a list of things we desire to change about ourselves. I have done that for quit some time and I believe many others too.

I have seen many people write resolutions and started working on them with energy but along the line, dump them and even forget they had things like that to achieve.

I am not exempted, I have done that many times too but one thing that challenged me to take another step is this, I have also seen people, though very few who wrote resolutions and chased them until they achieved them.

The majority of us miss it when we think it's all about desiring or wishing to improve. As powerful as desires and wishes are, they can not bring any result.

"I will improve, I want to change," is what we often tell ourselves, sometimes, we even take another bold step to write them out and begin to work on them but when the journey becomes tough, we fizzle out.

It is not enough to desire to improve, we need to also be intentional about it and always be ready for the price to pay. The truth is it won't be easy but if we are able to stay long enough, we will have it.

Early this year, I wrote that I want to be an intentional person this year. I have done many things that were supposed to birth good results to me but they didn't because I was too casual about them.

Things I should have mastered, I am still struggling with the basics all because I was not being serious about them. I suffered a lot for my carelessness and I don't want it that way anymore.

To be frank, practicing intentionality isn't an easy deal. The journey has been so tough for me so far, I won't lie, some days I feel like quitting because it is so inconveniencing.

But I don't have have a choice. I have been studying a book about making habits recently and I am being exposed to a lot of realities.

The secret to making anything we desire a part of our lives is consistentency, do it everyday and you would be amazed how that thing will gradually be engraved into your personality.

That is one of the things that has been keeping me going with my resolution. Whatever I have to do, whatever comes my way I see it as an opportunity and I give it my best, no excuses, even if it is discomforting and doesn't give me the kind of result I want.

Well, this is just the month of February, I wouldn't like to say much yet even though I have never being so intentional about anything to this point before. I am obviously making progress, nevertheless, I am hoping to keep going with this kind of energy until the year runs out.
